Hi, I've been deffered from yygs a summer program. Should I follow the same strategy that is recommended for when getting deffered from undergraduate program?

Yes!! Not as many people will do it so it’s more effective. Same strategy of affirming your continued interest (with specificity) and updating your profile, but very short because you don’t want to come off as annoying or egotistical since this is not college admissions and they likely are not so used to receiving such long winded letters.
