Thank you so much for these exercises! I have been suffering from what I believed and dreaded to be sciatica after a bad fall. Every day especially after waking up or during specific exercises like Romanian deadlifts I would feel pain in the area you demonstrated alongside radiating pain. I had been hoping it would go away on its own but nothing pigeon pose or cobra pose or "knee to the opposite chest" nothing was working. I had stopped working out legs and hips because exercises like hip thrusts seemed to make the pain worse. Yesterday I tried the first exercise and it worked incredibly well to make the hip less achy almost immediately. (Though when I first did it I could barely rotate my leg and it was painful. I backed off immediately but kept light pressure on the heels and didn't push beyond slight pain. After the holds and three repetitions as soon as I stood up my hips felt much better!) Then I did the airplanes (earlier I was doing them the other way) and I stayed pain free the entire day! Today I woke up to only slight hip stiffness and no radiating pain which is a welcome change from months of being resigned to the pain. I plan on doing the second exercise at the gym once I get familiar and confident with these two. Really grateful!
