My Appaloosa is like that and yes I totally agree the best thing is to let him have a good look at the offending item then touch it so he can process that its not going to kill him! Never a dull moment with him 😊

All I can say is, you have the patience and understanding of a saint😊. This little guy constantly drifting into oncoming lanes of traffic. Cripes. I was having a bit of anxiety there 😮😀 He’s so focused on “scary things” on the left, that he’s completely blocked out that he could be injured on the right.

Thank You so Much for Showing us all the Horses Point of View!! Gratefully Appreciated This Video and Thank You very Much for Explaining that this is Not "Bad Behaviour" , it's how Horses have Survived as a Species!! Andréa and Critters. ...XxX.... Ps, That Top lip is Definitely the hand's and fingers of the horse, my *Exmoor boy was Fascinated by human faces, especially Ears, and I had to let him check out my face, hair and ears, with his top lip!! He Never bit me, and he was such a fast learner and great Teacher!! (*He was straight off the moor!)

Barry, you are truly one of a kind. When I started riding in the 1970's there was still a lot of horsemen (stockmen) around, like you. They had a "way" with all animals (particularly horses), that was firm, fair and respectful, but above all, they understood the animals in their care, and had endless patience. Nothing was rushed. You, Sir, are one of them. X

This is the best video ASMR. It's just this man's charming accent and wealth of knowledge, combined with "clip clop clip clop clip clop".

You are one of the best horsemen in my humble opinion. I love how kind you are to them.

He's dealing with his fears bravely. I think it's interesting that he wanted to get right away from the fence with the bush, but he wanted to get closer to the cars. Maybe he's less frightened than curious about the cars?

My cob is like this, lorries tractors she hardly looks at now, though that took a bit of work at one point and though she sometimes have a bit of a spook nothing bad I drive her anywhere, she always seems to pick up on 'things' in the hedges though and where there's a ditch its like she's sensing things I don't. Friend says its cos she welsh 😁 she must be 6 or 7 now and started her driving year before last, last year i pushed her on a lot more and she went brilliantly. Only drove her once since new year cos she's not got shoes on atm and that was just a stroll down the road and back, went lovely. I've watched your videos for years now and they've helped me a lot thanks so much.

You can drive a horse without shoes. If left shoeless long enough the soles of the feet will harden overtime. Just need a hoof trimmer now and again. Don’t waste money on a farrier

I totally get this, my horse doesn't like waling out of the paddock with her, she prefers me to walk in front of her first & step aside until she walks through the gap....😆

I'm sure you have worked thru this guy's problem but just watching the first time makes me want to check several things, like can he bend equally to the right? Is he a candidate for no blinders, he may just be the kind who needs to keep his eye on things. I would be very tempted to drive him in a place where he is continuously circling to the right in an attempt to see what he does....this puts a crick in my neck- ha ha..... Thanks, always an interesting drive with you!

Are his eyes good? It could be that he is constantley bending left so he can use his other eye to see better.
