Lol If you unironically use "bro" mid-sentence like it's a proper noun, I've got to assume you're Gen Z. In which case, you literally aren't allowed to have an opinion on rap. Beats? Go off, nobody cares. But generally speaking, your own tastes are too garbage and your own literacy too low to have allowed you any latitude to criticize. I'm talking about any lyricist, not necessarily just Eminem. We get it: you'd prefer he chug some cough syrup and say "gucci gang" or some shit 93x. It's *entirely* possible that he intentionally creates beats that he likes the sound of, as opposed to the same fruityloops snare/808 shit that is guaranteed to pump in the club, like Dot just did. In any event, "sonically unbearable" doesn't really track with what is objectively the most globally successful rap career of all time. Liking music/artists is subjective, but you're levying a criticism that necessarily *can't* be true based on publicly available objective statistics. So let's rewrite: "I don't like Eminem. That's my opinion! And it's one that is shared primarily by Benzino, Joe Budden, and... children." There you go! Easy-peezy. Now, bring it full circle, call me a "Stan" and tell me which one of the Migos bodies Em on a versuz. Edit: Lol I shit you not I hadn't read any further down the page, OP already copped out with the Stan shit the first time someone disagreed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡How did people get THIS good at shitting on themselves 🤣🤣 Called that shit to a T

Not only just Alchemist either. Em has the entire industry at his disposal. There's no reason that he can't get production from certified legends at the drop of a dime. DJ Premier, RZA, Dre, Kanye, Buckwild, etc. I guarantee if he reached out to any of these guys to produce his records, they'd do it. Yet he still comes with the most generic pop rock, and trap beats.

@TMan101034 ай бұрын
@@na_kEveryone considers those albums classics by now. Many people's favorite album is The Eminem Show, not the MMLP. They are classics. They all have classic and iconic songs that have solidified into pop culture. They check off all the boxes of being a classic album. Guilty Conscience is a classic; My Name Is is a classic; Role Model is a classic; Just Don't Give A F is a classic; and those are just songs off the first album. At the time, no one recognized a classic until later on unless it was an instant classic. A lot of people were harsh back then and took great music for granted. I've seen people in 1994 forums online saying that Illmatic wasn't good and Ready To Die wasn't good either. He is in the top 5 when it comes to putting words together. You can name 5 others with better punchlines and discographies, but when it comes to bending words and delivering those words, he is one of the greatest ever. He was also a great songwriter at one point, too. A lot of elite rappers can't make songs that impact people a certain way. Eminem had appeal in that area as well.

As an Eminem fan, you right. I thought Relapse had an interesting enough concept but horrid execution. Recovery, I’ve heard better pop rap from Drake. MMLP2, snooze fest. Revival, more like Downturn. Kamikaze, cool technical stuff, I like his anger, but it ultimately falls short in delivery. MTBMB, Seinfeld and Nichijou have more of a plot than that album, and they are both shows about nothing. Death of Slim Shady, WHY DO YOU USE AI VOCALS OF YOURSELF 20 YEARS AGO???? Not all of his new songs are bad, but it’s more about them not sounding bad.
@akeme253 ай бұрын
I actually liked Recovery. In as much as it didn’t have his typical sound like his previous albums, it still had a theme and direction that I feel like he executed well, and a lot of the songs on that album were actually good. I mean, you can say nowadays his songs are mostly trash, but I think there are still some great Em hits after Encore and during Encore. An example of a good Eminem song post-Encore could be the song "Beautiful" of "Deja Vu". Another great song could also be "Stepping Stone" or "Castle" and "Arose". Of course, you mentioned it, When I'm gone is another song that came out after Encore that's still great. "Never Enough" or "Yellow Brick Road" are even more examples. So, where I am trying to get here is that there are still a few great Em songs with emotion on them. The newest song, Tobey, wasn't as bad either since he wasn't trying to rap fast as on maaaany other of his newer songs. To say that Eminem is completely trash after Encore or Relapse is kind of an understatement, but it's not completely false.

Relapse is the only album in his sobriety era that feels quality even if it still lacks substance as far as lyrics go (it's the last album Dr. Dre really had a hand in- go figure). I'd say his beat selection and approach to songwriting is what makes his shit so bad now. I don't think rappers need to have substance per se (some are just incapable aka his revival album) but more so stylistic awareness and growth in accordance to their age group which is what make Em so disappointing now. In the end, as long as people are obsessed with his past success, he'll always have a means to phone in some technical rap bullshit, it's second nature to him.

Lol, respect your opinion because your work on the other videos I have seen is genuinely wonderful, so you are a credible critic who definitely knows what they feel. I disagree heavily though, first of all because I think that the introspective cuts like Deja Vu, Going Through Changes, 25 to Life, Beautiful, Headlights, Castle, Arose, Stepeping Stones, Temporary and Somebody Save Me have shown that he has truly matured as an individual as these tracks are very touching and some of his all time bests in my humble opinion. Furthermore, his gutteral imagery on Relapse and the painful vulnerability and the bravado covering it on Recovery are some of the main reasons why those albums are classics to my ears. The Post Revival era has definitely been more catered to just being a Rapper's Rapper, but songs like Darkness, I Will, Premonition, Renaissance, The Ringer, and many more are still impressive feats where he doesn't go into the superfast lyrical flow and talk about certain subjects clearly. Although I agree that his super fast rapping where he has the weird stacatto or robotic delivery is very tiring to listen to, when in comparison, he slid like Butter on The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show but that's because of his unfortunate overdose and the proceeding recovery from it turning him into someone better and most importantly, someone happy. Holy Yap💀

I never played M&M growing up, although I knew he had skill. I recently realized how great he is. I also didn't like Houdini, but the rest of the album is genius. Houdini does make sense though, if you hear the whole album. He is only getting better. His bars are levels above any rapper by far. If you dont think so, then you weren't smart enough to get them. His last 3 albums are his best

I'm a fan of him. he hits very hard and misses even harder, no in between I'm always unsure going into a song of his, he will always have a lot of bars but it comes down to whether they are corny or actually gud. Don't think he's trash but would understand when someone says he is because boy does he miss when he misses

Since i used to be a battle rap fan, em not being musically great is something i actually like because that makes me focus on his technical abilities and i absolutely love some of his newer tracks. I love multi-syllabic rhymes, entendres, wordplays and metas and very popular rappers can do those stuffs on em's level(kendrick is great at those). Not to forget his flow is simply insane in almost ever current song of his. I personally love all all of that more than the musical aspect of Hip-Hop. If i really wanted to focus on musical aspects of a track, I'd go listen to rock, metal, blues, jazz or other instrumental heavy musical genres. For me rap is more about bars and guys like Eminem, C-Mob, Necro, Vinie Paz etc. are the only ones who can adhere to my needs. So yes, Eminem is still the Goat when it comes to Raw technical abilites and Jay Z ain't holding a candle to eminem on that aspect. He can just book all the Grammys for himself and his wife for the next decade, won't put him no where near eminem.

Eminem fan here for the salty comments 😂 Eminem has been creatively stagnant for a long time. It's basically been a loop since Relapse, talking about addiction and then reviving Slim Shady every couple of projects. It used to annoy me but then I realised: the man nearly died. Of course it became the defining moment of his life. He's living quiet and has nothing to say anymore, but honestly good for him. He's over 50 and rapping for the love of the craft at this point. I'm cool with fan service and word-play.

Tbh people hate too much on Em, it's true that he is no longer as good, I wouldn't say his current output is awful though, it's mediocre. It's not good, but people only hate on it as much as they do, because of the expectations they have of him. Also I have a strong attachment to relapse and the marshall mathers lp 2 and I know this isn't the common opinion, but I love both of those albums and they're both amazing

I liked Recovery and MMLP2 especially Bad guy and Cinderella Man , they were clever songs, also Darkness and Leaving Heaven from his 2020 album but that's it... I feel like he gets lost in technicality so much you don't hear Eminem talk. My fav Em bar has been "Put your hands down bitch, I ain't gon shoot you Imma take this bullet and put it through you" This guy, I'm terrified of... The eminem now...He's a fake class clown that never grows up and it's boring at best.
@ThatMcflyGuy6 ай бұрын
Eminem hasn’t been good since Relapse. He’s the rap god for young people these days who don’t know better. There are a lot of rappers who are better but aren’t considered marketable like K-Rino, Chino XL(RIP), Vinnie Paz, Canibus, Ransom, YOX just to name a few. Classic Em will always be on my playlist but even then i don’t go out of my way to way to listen to him.
@HipHopfan_5 ай бұрын
Eminem was my introduction in Hiphop (just as he was for every white millenial male like me). So his music will always have a special place in my heart. But, as times went by there really has been a decline in quality of Em his music. Rhymewise he is still on point, maybe even better then when he was coming up, he is still a topnotch MC. But that doesn't mean the album he made the last couple of years are also good. But an album needs to be more than just some crazy bars, it's an overall product. To me that is where Em is losing his touch. His overall product is not as good as it used to be.

I'd say post-Relapse Eminem lost his ability to create meaningful/interesting songs. Relapse had some gems but everything afterwards is just some Canibus-esq lyrical miracle spiritual crap. Even Infinite Em's infamous flop had more meaningful songs on it then the entirety of his Post-Relapse Catalogue.

Is em a good rapper. Yes obviously. Is he the goat? Not in a million years. Is his music ‘good’? As in sonically pleasing? Not in a million years. There are faster rappers- ocean wisdom and harry shotta. There are rappers with better breath control- abdominal (16 bars on one breath) There are rappers with better stories- roc, ka, Akala, j cole, skinnyman, There are rappers with better soliloquies and syntax- ka, Elzhi, ot the Mexican, rakim, ev, method man, verb t. Is there rappers with better emotion- yes. Merkules, verb t, Benny the butcher, Conway, leaf dog, ka. Em just isn’t special /different anymore.

Eminem shits all over them Eminem changed the game especially when he was on form and can spin the people you’ve listed ten times over. Eminem was the best of his era and a lot of people wouldn’t even be into hip hop without him to not give the man his flowers and try say fucking verb t is a better artist is actually ridiculous what verb t track compares to any of Eminems older tracks literally none.

They are specifically suited to their styles and mostly adhere those styles whereas em tries to incorporate all of those said styles in his songs by still highlighting his own style. This take can make him musically weaker or unpleasnt to hear, but that's what makes him the GOAT imo. The fact that he continously keeps experimenting with different styles/sub-genres and still being able to put out hits which are technically greater than all of his contemporaries is way beyond anyone else. Not liking his current music/style is cool but straight up calling him trash prooves y'all neither respect the artist nor the art. For example, i don't listen to new aged rappers, heck i avoid listening to Kanye, Jay-Z, Kendrick, Drake and J cole at all cost cause I neither find them technical nor do i love their style but definitely consider them to be greats and no matter how many Grammys Jay Z just buys off, I'd still consider him an icon. The hate against Em by the creators and the viewers on this thread is wild and all that because of stans being stupid makes the haters way more stupid than the stupidest stans.
