It's amazing that this game from my younger years it's making a comeback, sadly it's too late for me, I broke both of my hands a few years back and I have metal rods in my metacarpus bones and due to that I won't ever be able to play like I used to, the high APM required for competitive GUNZ would make my hands hurt like crazy after a couple of minutes, but I will be following this game being reborn and I do hope it will be successful

I've played this so much as a kid, not over the years but intensely in 2007-2008. Think I got up to around 1300 hours iirc. I've actually searched for something GunZ related recently to see if the game is alive but couldn't find much other than International GunZ and couple other servers but not very active ones. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this :D

I remember playing this game so much when I was in middle/high-school. When I got jaded by the regular game and saw that the private servers allowed me to customize my characters so much more and get cooler guns, I started playing on so many private servers I lost count. While I still sucked at K-style, I still loved to play it by relying on grenades, automatic guns and revolvers at long range. I became a master in making my grenades ricochet from walls and ceilings and sniping with revolvers while using my, very rudimentary, k-style skills to stay out of shotgun range. I'd love to see it release on Steam and give it a proper go...maybe even learn more about the K-style.

Hope the toxicity doesn't ruin the game for newcomers. It is a big reason why many new people will leave after learning moves and queuing up ladder, or moves are too hard and its hard to learn because people won't help. I love playing GunZ for the many months I have been playing it, would hate for it to crash because the community can't understand how Not to be a douche.

The pserver I play on experienced a massive spike in players thanks to a tiktok video. You'd be surprised at how many players in training rooms were getting assistance from the vets that were taking their time to help them out. I don't think there's any need to worry about players not helping each other out. We're all here still playing because we love the game and want to keep it alive. I believe in this community.

i understand the sentiment of new players wanting to ask help from veterans and ask them how to learn moves and Guide them, but the reality is that nobody is gonna Guide new players like that, Socially speaking i understand why new players would want that, but like i said, not gonna happen, unless you have a GunZ veteran as a friend, new players should just accept that if they wanna learn, they need to watch alot of youtube videos and read the GunZ wiki where theres every move there listed. the veterans will guide new players for 3/4 moves then they are on their own.

@ its not even guiding as a issue. I’ve seen many new players stay and go, but when they try to play the game and k-style regardless of mode they get flamed. They will try to preform top-notch just to get embarrassed and made fun of, if the community stays that way I don’t have much hope for steam gunz

I feel like the biggest issue that's always held this game back was it's lack of client trace. People that come into it fully aware of what "K-Style" is can adapt but everyone else it just feels like a buggy mess. Your bullets don't seem to do any damage no matter how many hits you land and everyone seems to be spamming you with invisible sword strikes. It was never made apparent that 90% of the user base is animation cancelling and it was absolutely never made apparent that your hit counters are lying to you. In this game you must learn the in's and out's of animation canceling if you want to keep up in terms of melee and in terms of gunplay you must lead your shots and the amount you're supposed to lead is dependent on how far away your target lives irl from you. Once you learn about those two things then the game becomes truly interesting and unique, but unless you have a friend or a youtube video to explain this to you than you would never know, and the game just "appears" as if it is a buggy mess when in actuality these two janky systems are what make it so skill based.

I liked Eurogamerz Gunz/ Universe GG, the one with the blue UI theme that had a large number of players around the time the official servers closed, not sure what happened to that one. I think theres something in law that if a company stops using an IP and leaves it dead then other people can later come in and start using that IP or a derivative of it legally, I guess thats whats going on with this ?
