Let's cut the crap right now. -It looks gorgeous for what it is. -Having a Ninja and Samurai option is cool. -We all wanted Japan. -If bugs aren't insane then it will play well and be a decent enough time for the first 20 hours. HOWEVER -Ubisoft absolutely chose a vague semi-historical character solely on the color of his skin and then marketed it with hip-hop to reinforce it. We all know it and would respect Ubisoft a bit at least if they'd admit it. And it's not racist to find that choice to be absolutely silly. Nobody would expect a game entirely about Nigeria to have a pale Canadian protagonist. -The game will grow stale quickly as all the ARPG AC games do. -The mechanics they keep showing off have been done already and in more beloved games so it's not exciting. -There will be no real innovation in the Ubisoft open world formula. -This will be just another "meh" game.

Bro exactly, we don't even need to think of an example, like a game in nigeria. If in Origins instead of bayek, ubisoft put a white as snow greek or roman MC, people would lose their minds saying it's racist(and rightfully). But since it's a black MC, people flip the card because it fits their narrative. And now who's racist is who's calling out bs on it. Either all of it is not ok, or none. Otherwise people just sound hypocritical and lose all credibility

We love those games because of its historical and cultural heritage. We Assassins creed fans play these games because they allow us to live as part of ancient cultures and peoples of the time. Assassins creed 1. We play as a Middle Eastern in Jerusalem.. Assassins creed 2 we play as a italian in italy. Assassins creed 3 we play as a native american in colonial times. Assassins creed 4 we play as a English man pirate in the middle of the colonization of the Caribbean. Assassins creed origins we play as a black Egyptian in egypt. And so on and so on. Then we play as the only black dude in Japan. When this is the one game, we were all waiting for decades to finally play as a Japanese samurai warrior and ninjas... this was japans time to shine. And explore all its cultural heroes. Yasuke should of been playable at certain times at best, as a supporting charecter. Not have a main role. Thats should of been for a Japanese hero of the time. This is why people are upset. Not because of Yasuke or because his black. No one would complain if Yasuke had a supporting role.
