After supporting Birmingham for 50 years im surprised more people didnt see that coming ! Our away form this season has been shocking and i feel Huddersfield has got draw written all over it with both teams probably both at the same level in which case we will both be relegated as all other teams around us have shown some fight to get results Imagine a sell out St Andrews if we are down by the final day ? Need clarification from the club in the next couple of weeks as to the Mowbray situation because the recruitment and clear out needs to start asap before pre season and somebody needs to be spearheading that Whatever division we play in next season im sure it wont be as bad as this season so onward and upward we go KRO

Yes the Huddersfield game is massive for both of us and a draw would not suit either team and would probably result in both teams being relegated at the end of the season. Regardless of what happens and even though it might not seem like it today, the future is very bright and we can finally start to rebuild the squad in the summer under Knighthead’s first transfer window. I hope Tony Mowbray is recovering well and will be able to resume his duties as manager but I agree the situation will need clarifying before we go into a very important transfer window m. KRO

I disagreed with Tony Mowbray sometime ago when he said that we weren't in a relegation battle. I've been supporting Blues for a long time and whichever way you look at it this season has been dire other than our excellent start. The no fear football was a really naive thing from the outset and that's one of the reasons why we are where we are, but there are other reasons. Look at our squad - yes weak up front and in central defence (why did we sell Kevin Long???), but on paper we have a decent squad with international players. I know that we've too many management changes this season, but last season we had a lot to contend with - the threat of a points deduction, the training facilities burnt down, a poor run after Xmas etc etc, but John Eustace kept us on an even keel. So like Man Utd situation we have to go back to the attitude of the players which is hard to understand. Whatever happens we need a total rebuild of the squad for next season. Too many players have been at the club too long, but I would keep Jukey - a man of honesty, integrity, but when he plays we never play to his strengths. The players who stay and new signings HAVE to deliver or face our wrath, not by booing at the game which helps no one, but by social media. I don't like Prichard's attitude, but then we all know what happens when Managers bring in their old boys, like Aitor Karanka did. I too remember the dark days of Ken Wheldon and we should be at the very least thankful that we have finally got decent owners. The thing that stuck out the most from me in what you said is something I have been saying all season in relation to the character of the players. We must recruit players based upon their character as well as their ability and I’m sure that is something that will be addressed in the summer. KRO

Thank you for your comment. We have 10 players out of contract in the summer and five loans to go back. I also think some of the contracted players will go. Whichever way you look at it we will have a mass clear out and I suspect that the squad next season will be very different, which is clearly what is needed. KRO

I honestly figured we'd get 4 points from the last 3 games and we're on course for that. Problem is Wednesday have more fight than us. Now we need favors off other teams and thats a precarious position to be in. I wouldn't like to be behind Wednesday before the last game of the season as they'll beat Sunderland. Stop playing to other teams strengths play to ours. We have an active midfield keep it active using our skilled players off the bench to keep a high intensity. Massive clear out on relegation or survival and they're playing like its summer holidays already. Fight for the fans if nothing else. KRO...Again great content 👌

I’ve said for a while that Sheffield Wednesday will survive. Their record under Danny Rohl is very good, upper mid table form. They tend to win their ‘must wins’ as well. Their players are showing the guts and fight required to stave off relegation. We have to win the last 2 games and hope Plymouth or Blackburn slip up (Blackburn have got 2 stinkers to play). I’ve lost faith in these players though, I hate being negative but I really can’t see us winning both the remaining games. After the Cov game I had some hope restored but it’s gone again now. It’s the hope that kills you with Blues !

Yes, massive game against Huddersfield at the weekend which I suspect you will be praying for a draw! If the game is drawn and you beat WBA at home that would mean that you would go into the final game three points ahead of us. We would then be relying on you to lose at Sunderland and us to beat Norwich. Lots of ifs and buts and I’m sure there will be plenty of twists and turn right up to the final whistle. Most of the players have let us down and like you and probably the whole of the Blues fan base we will be glad when this season is over. There will be a big squad rebuild in the summer regardless of which division we are in and hopefully the club can start to build a competitive squad under Knighthead’s first summer transfer window. Consistency is the key in any sport. It separates the good players from the bang average. Anyone can turn up and smash it one day but doing it over and over is not a given. I know we just think why can't we do that again but knowing anything about sport it's not that easy! Also thought Rotherham played well. Closed us down and made it tough. Bang in trouble now. Thank you for your comment. We spoke about the inconsistency during the podcast and that is the frustrating thing for us fans. I think many of the players are better than they have shown us but they are just underperforming which is really disappointing. I hope we can find a way out of this but it will take a big effort in the last two games where we need to win both of them. KRO

100% Frank! I especially think confidence plays a big part in our team. Miyoshi in the 91st minute and Roberts in the first 2. For me, 2 attacking players with confidence bury them every time. Like you say, too many must-win games have produced zilch. Coventry for me, was perfect timing for us, they had one eye on that semi-final. Hopefully Norwich won't need a result on the final day. It's not going to be what we do, it's what others around us don't do. Thankfully, we still have a few in the mix.

Thank you for your comment. Based on where we are now, anything less than two wins in the final two games is likely to see us down. I do think that if we can find some way of winning those two games we will stay up however it’s down to the players. If they turn up like they did against Cardiff and Rotherham then we have no chance, if we can get performances like we did against Coventry then there is hope. You just never know with Blues. KRO

Hi both, another great podcast. I could not believe that Burke started, or the way that Blues played after the Coventry game (zero fight and zero passion). With failing to beat Rotherham - the lowest ranked club in the table - I don’t see how Blues are going to beat Norwich on 4th May. I really do think we’re going to be relegated this season, but you know, it’s not the end of the world. If it happens, we’ll smash League One and come back fighting. We KRO, we journey on. I think with Birmingham, our team crumbles with the pressure of these “must win” games. They let opposing teams get to them when we play away and that’s how they find the mindset to play with our sold out stadium. All the points you have made I 100% agree with. Unfortunately, only one man picks the team and on this occasion Rowett got it horrendously wrong with his decision to pick Burke and this shocker of a mistake was there for all to see as Burke offered absolutely nothing and was dragged at half time (I don't buy him having any sort of injury, unless being s#*t or not giving a s*#t is/are injuries) It was a huge mistake to change quickly, winning side, especially after such a comprehensive victory. It's hard to blame just Burke, so I won't, I blame Rowett for picking him in the first place and then I blame Burke for letting Rowett down and the rest of the team and the fans. I also blame the other players too, who equally let themselves, the manager Burke and the fans down too. Once again, it was the away fans that didn't let anyone down and travelled in their numbers and did their job as always, to be let down and disappointed yet again. We've played Rotherham twice now, and both games were shocking and no disrespect to Rotherham, who were the better side on both occasions. Having only taken 2 points from the worst side in the league (the table doesn't lie), then it's hard to make a case for Blues to be joining them in League One next season. Rotherham, for me, was a must win game, and we fluffed our lines, despite having a couple of really good opportunities to score. Most notably Roberts, who doesn't look like he has a goal in him and Miyoshi with that chance right at the end, that he should've absolutely buried. I've said it before that Donovan needs to not only be in the squad. I have no idea why he hasn't featured, but for me, he's a starter. The young man is more than good enough, so therefore old enough. He plays with pride, passion, and commitment, and he makes things happen. That's exactly the type of player and performance that we need for and in the last 2 games. With regards to the Huddersfield and Norwich games, respectively. All we can do is take care of out own business, which is a worry in itself, given how inconsistent we've been, as you so rightly point out, and just hope that the other results we need go our way. However, regardless of what league we're in, our recruitment has to be right, as well as making sure that we release the players that have served their time. Some of whom have done so with distinction and others, well the less said about them, the better! Burke terrible selection and he did not want to know. Second half we were better and offside goal decision hurts but was correct as keeper would not save it but was blocked to a degree. Mywasie should have scored. But feel win the next two and we will be ok. Can we win the next two definitely if the players want it. Again if not for blues they need to show some passion and desire for themselves and family in the form of effort in the game. Stansfield aside who ran all game.

It's always the same, we play well against the top teams and come unstuck against those at the bottom. Rowett has gone right down in my estimation after picking Burke and dropping Miyoshi, one of our few creative players. I cannot believe that Tony Mowbray had any input into that selection. I have no confidence now for the Huddersfield game and are we going to get anything against Norwich. I just can't see it . After 4 or 5 seasons of just beating the drop I think this is the season we will finally go down. Rooney cost us dearly but we should still have had enough to stay up so if we do go down I would have to say that all things considered , we deserve it.

They cannot blame the revolving door of managers, this is on them. We realistically need to win both of our remaining two games and to do that the players will need to dig deep and show us something special. The inconsistency suggests that they can’t but with Birmingham City, you never know. KRO

One point I’ve made from even before the Watford game with the Drameh/Aiwu mistake our throw ins this past 4 months have been abysmal. We lose all intensity to our game when we get a throw in, nobody clearly shows for it and both fullbacks are hesitant to throw it long. Was the same against Rotheram and it slowed the game down every time, no urgency. KRO lads

Thank you very much for your comment. Myself and Matt have made exactly the same point about throwings in previous matches and I think it was the home match against Cardiff that was a real problem. You cannot maintain intensity in a match if the players don’t run around and give the thrower options. I think that sums up a lot to be honest. KRO

A draw against Huddersfield will be no good to either us or them but would be perfect for you. The difference between our team and yours is that your lads are showing fight and passion to get out of this, ours are not and that is why we are in this mess. Thanks Brian! I watched the Sheff Wed / Blackburn game on Sunday and I just wished the blues players gave half the battle and fight Sheff Weds did. They aren't the best team in the league in terms of ability but they want EVERY ball and it was clear to see. It will be interesting to see how this pans out for these final 2 games. We can still do it but I think we are going to certainly have to rely on results going our way and getting a bit of luck. Thanks again and KRO!

The 4 points we’ve dropped against Rotherham home & away this season will cost us. Failing to score in both games against the worst team the championship has ever seen! Watching Sheff Wed thrash Blackburn just shows they’ve got the fighting spirit that we lack. Can see ourselves going down with Huddersfield now

Thank you for your comment. Absolutely spot on. Our home game against Rotherham was one of the worst games and performance I’ve seen in years and we were so lucky not to lose it. I can think of lots of examples through the season where we have conceded late goals and thrown points away that it should not be a surprise to any of us that we are in the position. We sacrifice each week home and away … sure to the players 100 pound day is no problem but to the working man it is. Yet we give this and more … give a little back no and then players. Myself and Matt are talking the other day about how much we think we’ve spent on Blues during the season and we reckon that with season tickets, away tickets and travel, food, merchandise etc. it’s probably around 2.5K so far this season. That is also not taking into account the time involved. Like most Blues fans we don’t usually keep track and it just accumulates over the season. All we ask for is a competitive team and players that will fight for our club. KRO

But our up and down form IMO is the symptom of many things 1: To many managers giving different instructions 2: 7 out of 11 players not knowing what and where they will be playing from one game to the next 3: no stability in the back 4 we need a consistent defence. 5: no capable leaders no communication. 6: no real identity due to different tactical stiles from game to game we need to establish an identity and stick with it none of this worrying about what the other team rubbish. Serious decisions over the next few weeks. The most serious being who will manage this team next season. Personally I have serious issues with Mowbray, we paid money for Pritchard who apart from being totally unfit it seems he has a really bad attitude and he's got a contract for another 2 years. Watching the highlights of Blackburn v Sheffield Wednesday the Blackburn keeper was reported to be high on Mobrays targets for next season. It beggars belief how bad he is . They are human the pressure got to them, think you ought to bear in mind the stoppages. They could still stay up. They have had a lot of upheaval. Sheff Utd arent safe yet. Best advice is to accept that win both games and they are safe, go for it in both games and all this analysis is irrelevant. Even if they go for it and get smashed in both who cares? They have had a go.

I hope the players can leave everything on the pitch and make that happen but there will need to be a big change from the Rotherham performance. Huddersfield are in the same boat as us as they have to win as well and a draw will be no good for neither of us but perfect for the teams just above us. This really will be a winner takes all match. Blues simply cant break a team down if they sit back. Hopefully that works in our favour vs Huddersfield who have to come at us, as if they lose they are relegated, and even with a draw could still go down. I'm sure we will setup to frustrate them and try to find some space as they come forward throughout the game. Thats where we are strongest. That said, we absolutely cannot concede early.

Sadly i think this is the year we wont escape which is ironic after we finally get owners that care and want change, i think the bottom line is we have a team of players that no other team wanted, they have the ability in small doses but there inconsistency is the reason they are on loan. I don't think anybody had a good game against Rotherham. We were to slow going forward and the passing in the first half was awful. I think Wednesday and Plymouth will win Saturday and we'll draw and get relegated with Huddersfield.

I was quite optimistic after the last summer transfer window as I thought we’d bought in some better players. The problem is the players have underperformed. I think they are better than the league table suggests however the league table doesn’t lie and there is no doubt that we are 22nd because we deserve to be there. Based on the Cardiff and Rotherham performances it’s difficult to see how we can win our last two games however we are Birmingham City and we never do what is expected! KRO
