It would be really cool to see kibitz doing the wandering village. It’s not necessarily really deep in logistics, but it’s a city builder, you have to plan, and I just really like watching people play it, so it would be cool to see what kibitz would do.

I just finished a facility to transform all 3,450 Crude Oil of Spiral Coast in 10,350 plastic+rubber but did it using blueprints and in a way, you can easily switch from plastic to rubber at a micromanaging level. I was surprised Kibitz just used the same "it's over 9000" meme. I love Kibitz's work ♥

I love seeing mega project showcase videos of this game. It's all so satisfying and beautiful. And it makes me want to play the game all the more. But then I remember that those projects literally took hundreds or often thousands of hours to make. Problem is that it requires so much calculating that my head starts swimming, and so much building that I kinda lose motivation. ^^;; I once spent an hour calculating...just for converting 4 pure iron nodes with MK2 miners into plates, rods, and nails. Love the game, but goddamn it feels like a full time job sometimes. :P

Hey Kibz, something I've always wondered, what's your power grid look like? Like, is everything just daisy chained together between factories following along train stations, or is there some organisation? With how...tempramental nuclear is, I'm just wondering if it'd be worth organising your grid so it's in 4 parts: 1 the nuclear plant, 2 the plutonium disposal, 3 everything else, and 4 a back up/emergency power plant running on fuel or coal (which is off 90% of the time). You'd have it all divided up by switches, and if worst comes to pass rather than basically being screwed out of the world, you can flip a few switches and your back up power plant directs everything it has to plutonium. Alternatively you could just have a self sufficient power plant and the plutonium plant on it's own power grid, so that never turns off if you do have a total meltdown. Sorry if this has already been shown and/or discussed in a past video or stream, I haven't managed to catch your streams and haven't seen all the older videos. From what I have seen your back up power system for the plutonium is a dozen or so batteries beside the control room.

Kibz, question: Could a reverse manifold method work to get the pipes to 600? Like, take one 500 pipe, and have 5 junctions out of it, each with a valve for 100 flow. Then merge each 100 line into the 500 lines? That would give you (5) 600 lines, right? I'm just brainstorming. Top notch work as always, you inspire me to put in the extra work for asethics, it really is a beautiful game.

@pcfan1986
@pcfan1986 Жыл бұрын
I would just divide 1 500 line up and feed 100 each into in 5 others, so that you end up with 5 600 lines. As he has apparently 13 500 pipes coming in, he could use 2 of them to fill 10 pipes up to 600 and then use 100 from the 300 line to fill up the last one and then he has 11 pipes with 600 each and a 200 one.

I just finished turning all the crude in the Spire Coast into fuel to run 766⅔ fuel generators... I'm now getting nearly 115 thousand megawatts. I was going to do turbofuel, but just the idea of having to plumb and wire 2004 fuel generators was... unpleasant. I'm glad I didn't do it. Also, I wanted to save my sulfur for batteries and a massive nuclear plant. I'm at a point now where I'm happy to be done with that project and am now just kind of basking in its awesomeness. I love going to random high spots and just gazing out upon its glory. It looks like a giant orchard of smoke stacks, lol. Edit: removed an unnecessary word.

How do you load balance your fluids? Wrap around pipes or what
@goshisanniichi
@goshisanniichi Жыл бұрын
@@shawnlynch9826 Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I was busy when I originally saw you question and forgot to reply when I had time. I just remembered it after watching Kibitz's most recent video. Anyway, yeah. Wrap around pipes, kind of. The fuel flows into the wrap around bit before it goes to the generators. Also, I made sure to have production be at a higher elevation than consumption, that helps very much. Another thing that helps is allowing the pipes to fill completely before connecting the generators to the power grid. If the power connector of the generator is not connected, the game basically treats them as being off so you can let your pipes fill up before connecting them. It helps a bunch for balancing fluids if your pipes can be full before starting whatever machines are using the fluid.

Same for me, in the end i rather wait some time than doing a copy-paste of the same buildings over and over again. Or do a 4in1 manufacturing with manual filling of the 4 cpntainers. Especially when the research doesnt really add new stuff anymore, just more of the same faster. Would like a "sleep" option for that, or a chillout-chair with time speedup happening.. In the beginning i just explored the world while waiting but at one point you've seen it all.

With all this ridiculous water piping everywhere in the world I'd still love to see something along the lines of long-range transport pipes that can handle 3.000 BUT they can't connect to machines because of the pressure and only connect to a "hub pipe" that has 1 input and 5 output sides to go to 5 600 pipes so that the moving to a base isn't just a huge ugly stack of shitty pipes but 1 or 2 big bulk water pipes instead.

At an absolute minimum the devs need to leverage the space elevator WAY more. It's this huge structure you use to advance tech but beyond that it sits idle and useless. Where are the recurring mission objectives to ship tons of plastic off planet? Some sort of score system based on how much/what you ship. Really anything!!!! It's such a great and polished game that we've invested 100's of hours into but every time we push up towards Nuclear power everyone loses interest since we know there isn't anything left to do other than "make more shit faster" Really looking forward to Dyson's Sphere Project combat update... If done well I think it can really add an extra dynamic to the game!

It's a shame this game got so overly complicated. I played this game back before they added water pipes and some other things that after I updated the game it just completely broke my world, everything I tried to do just kept breaking and everything I did just didn't work, I mean everything I built was kind of chaotic and all over the place, it sucks because I had over or close to 1000 hours. I will still remember the fun and Zen moments I had when playing this game, but in the end it was time to let the game go and move on, maybe one of these days I might go back through and start over just to remember the good ol days of Satisfactory.

It seems like it's becoming very hard for you to keep track of where resources are going. Especially since you're building on such a huge scale that thousands of resources are moving in many directions. It might help your future self to start using label signs. In projects like this where you have a single building segment and a single room where it produces 1 thing, or does 1 thing. Have all resources input into the room from one location. Then use 2m label signs to label the inputs. IE, select an image on the signs lets say crude oil. Then the text you'd write "X300" if the pipe carries 300 per minute. If there is more than 1 and they are all flowing evenly, you'd write "x300 x6" 6 pipes flowing at 300. You do the same for belts. Do this on a designated input and output area of a given project and you'll help your future self keep track of things
@typhoon1575
@typhoon1575 Жыл бұрын
Perhaps you could call these "junction points" where the total input or output of a section of buildings meet in one place to be labeled and organized before being piped off to where its needed. Labeled for no other reason than, 3 months later you can walk in and see exactly what the section of buildings takes, and produces with out having to dissect into the building line to remember how it worked

Is that possible? I'm playing a purist run so I'm not cracking into any of the alternative recipes other than the ones that are granted outside of hard drives. I'm pretty much doing the purest run because I'm lazy and I'm curious if it's possible.
