When I search for a medieval lute or a Balkan tambura I appreciate a demo that plays the most cliche songs for the instrument - it's easier to check if it's good when listening to familiar riffs in the most common tempo, sustain, dynamics, etc. I think the same logic applies for these Chinese instruments and it's convenient. :)

The Weaves, Nice Piano! That Behringer presenter is one of their employees. The other photo is stock with some _Shoping_ going on-Adobe Style. 80s synths sound like that, so if that is cheesy to you then you probably think all 80s synths are cheesy. Seriously you never heard of the Yangtze? That's the longest river in Asia. There's a very good book you should have read in grade school about rivers, so that you would know these things. It's called _The Yellow River_ by I.P. Freely. He had a sequel called _Rusty Bed Springs_, but it didn't do as well. Have you learned about pentatonic scales yet? Like on Smoke on the Water? Go play the shorter keys on your Nice Piano. If the preparation you did doesn't inhibit the sound board too much you'll understand why Arturia likes pentatonic scales.

imo vintage is pretty good but not sure why the vst isn't like just the synth it is like a normal plugin in a huge box like a DAW is suppose to be there or something :) Like the sound this makes though, good free vst. As much as you want to be hater, I got to say not only did I pick up vintage but I also picked up a ddx3216 and liking that also. Again liking both these offerings by Behringer... again I think they do provide a lot of gear that would otherwise be out of reach for people, they are providing a service imo especially since I am a broke hobbiest Behringer is great. In fact the ddx3216 feels and sounds good imo. Also vintage provides fairly good sound, and IMO is a quality vst, not cheap at all in feel.

100% on trying there and buying elsewhere - unless they can match the better price. I'm in Australia and we have a big store called Manny's, and they'll usually price match a guitar or anything else. As for $300 guitars, so much of their sales will be dad coming in to buy his kid a cheap guitar and amp. Really, it's the intermediate guitars where value is. The super expensive guitars are usually little to no better. My price limit is $2500 Aussie dollars absolute max, probably about $1600-1700USD. Anything over that is just pissing money away coz the guitar will be no better and sound no better. Gibson charges huge prices because dumbass guitarists don't understand guitar tone and think they need a $5000 Les Paul to sound like their boomer heroes. People pay Ibanez extreme amounts of money for a Joe Satriani guitar when it's basically no better than a normal S-Prestige. Capitalism for you.
@DerDanko
@DerDanko 2 ай бұрын
The difference between buying a VST plugin or digital audio interface and an expensive hand made guitar is that you can try ten different units of that guitar model and they will differ. A lot. Unlike the interface. This is why anyone who would be serious about sinking thousands of dollars into a guitar would not order it online without first trying out the one they buy. I feel confident in claiming this because I used to own and manage the largest guitar store in Scandinavia for many years, we sold 8500+ guitars annually and kept 2500+ guitars in stock with a lot of variety to choose from. I tried pretty much every guitar going through my store, save for the bulk ones, and even after proper setup they all differed enough for someone to skip the purchase if it did not feel like The One and look elsewhere for the same model when it came to expensive instruments. The only comparison is that with a Behringer Xenyx mixer, they all sound exactly as bad as the other one but every 20th unit will piss you off because it shipped already broken, aka playing the "Uli Bingo"...

Yeah, I think one of the Analog designers called it out. He said they made some sacrifices on the Analog's interface, because it was designed to naturally integrate into Ableton's DAW. The Vintage allegedly plagiarizes those shortcomings, despite being a standalone plugin.

11:40 I understand your sentiment, but SPECIFICALLY for guitars - I would NEVER buy online. When you try out a guitar, that is that specific guitar you are trying, even if its "factory-made" there's so many little nuances, it almost feels like you and the guitar choose each other. Yes you can get it set up after, but that magic first moment is like picking out a puppy or kitten. I'm getting emotional over here and I'm a drummer first!

Although Kendrick delivered a good track, as a diss song I do feel it falls short, because not everyone enjoys to have to pull up lyrics and study what he means pressing play/pause. Drake's track I played twice and understood 95% of it. Sorry as a poetic rapper Kendrick is hella cool, but at writing diss tracks you can hear he's not been doing that often, by the lack of instantly hard hitting punchline after punchline, while Drake has the experience and delivered even though he took on 5-8 other artists beside Kendrick all in one track. So I'll give this round to Drake for holding his own against Kendrick, while still having one hand free to face slap other artists effortlessly. We'll see what's next

Behringer has been shamed into donating to charity (far from it being "just e-mail" that prompted this - they have been solicited for many years). Even if it were an honest action, you can't make up, in my not-humble opinion, for being a cancer on the industry with no regard for law (despite keeping an army of sleazy lawyers to sustain their horrible, antisocial business model) or common decency. When the company is sold and it starts doing its own damned work (something former employees say they beat their heads fruitlessly against a corporate wall trying to encourage, only to be forced into further "tribute" work) - they should still be avoided, just on principle (any principle, because these guys have none). That company sucks, and no amount of too-little-to-late, heavily promoted "charity" can change its utter state of suckage. Give money to causes you like because you want to help those causes. Don't buy into sales promotions masquerading as public goods. Give your million dollars because you care, not to get a "free" plugin from a horrible company.

That it's "impersonal" isn't really the point. It's also impersonal to pay someone to handle your social media admin and pretend to be you, but that's what many (most?) people of her level of fame have been doing ever since social media took off.
