Andrew Huang, like every other large KZbinr, is a content creator first. They have to be, or they won't have a channel with millions of subscribers (unless they already have a massive audience when they start, meaning Taylor Swift could pull it off for sure). Sometimes if we're lucky they are musicians second rather than marketers.

The problem is that certain “producers” become role models for many, but they’re not really producers, they’re KZbinrs. I recently asked a head of A&R in Nashville about a very large “Nashville producer” on KZbin. This person has literally never heard of the guy. I then looked up his credits and they’re non existent. So people are learning from a fraud essentially - or at least someone who should be learning from producers who actually work in the industry.

Best way of dealing with this sort of thing: post your rules for product reviews on your YT profile. That way, you're stating right up front that you need X, Y, Z things in order to do a review, without any ambiguity. It might also help...although it sounds draconian...to also state that attempting to subvert your review policies will result in said company getting "blacklisted" and you won't do any further work with them should that happen. Then also post that right alongside your requirements. Yes, you'll lose potential advertisers. But they'll invariably be the ones you don't want to deal with anyway.

Usually offer giveaways to the community and don’t try and script stuff as that’s just yikes. This is all corporate %^*+. I think I see the issue but as a small creator myself it seems a bit risky for the brand to throw a chunk of change my way given that my channel is only 2K on YT. I normally get £50 - £150 per sponsored video plus NFR copy, but that is with my TT at 100K followers and the videos are short form (still a lot of work). I also do a lot of emailing to bring in deals. Maybe Im crazy but I didnt expect to be paid the big bucks at the start. I expected to work for free or minimal money as I build my rep and show I can bring value. Dont get me wrong I think some of the requirements in that contract seem a bit strict but its up to the creator to say yes. I still feel like for the most part its ok to do a sponsorship for free (NFR) as long as its all above board and both parties know whats involved. Am I misunderstanding something?

"This is an obnoxious click bait way to title videos"
@NTMTR_OFFICIAL4 ай бұрын
That’s because KZbinrs have no choice: behind the scenes they are literally being forced at gun point by the algorithm to use negatively phrased clickbait titles as they are about to upload their videos, the algorithm is actually there, right behind them with a gun, or so they say… What they don’t get though or pretend not to , or just ignore, is that every choice they make using clickbait reinforces that aspect of the algorithm. They are essentially helping the algorithm to hold them at gun point while simultaneously gesturing their inability to do anything about it. The algorithm knows that human nature will eventually give in to being driven by subscriber increase rate and views.
