Fair criticism about Elon Musk being wishy washy about how committed he is about AI at Tesla. At the same time, he has long stated his worries about unconstrained AI, to say that it would be totally fine as long as it is within Tesla would also be disingenuous. There's a big question if FSD Robo-taxis will even be profitable. The maintenance cost of the fleet will eat into margins, and the biggest uncertainty is the Regulatory Environment Robo-taxis will be forced to operate in. 95% of all car accidents due to humans. FSD can reduce them to nearly zero. TESLA could easily include the insurance in its fee per mile of it's future robotaxis, no lawsuits. Governments will quickly see the advanatage of FSD and the cost reduction to the social security. FSD Would become quickly manadatory in all cars. Traditional cars will see their car insurance skyrocket as the insurance risk will be carried by fewer non-fsd car drivers. TESLA could (and is) planning to build cars that last over 500,000 miles or 10 years, lowering the investment cost to more miles. FSD means also you don't need a driver. So the cost per mile would be around the cost of a train ticket, but with much higher flexibiliy as it will transport people AND goods door to door at any time, day and night. AI is going to replace workers, it's a given fact, new jobs will be defined as with any new technology revolution.

Great analysis, detached from emotions, which is rare nowadays when it comes to Tesla and Musk. That being said, for a quick buck, the stock will go up some as people forget his latest antics, which he has had over at least the past 4 years. For the mid-term range, Optimus is likely to corner the North American and European markets if first to market for consumers and even more for businesses to use. Except for the ridiculous judgement that just came down from Delaware invalidating that compensation plan, this would have put Elon's current ownership (or expected ownership at the time of that tweet) at 19%. So all he was saying was another similar pay package - something like 12% to make Tesla a 10T dollar company was what he wanted. Cult of musk. Calling this ‘bashing’ is sick. Seek help. The video voices legitimate and reasonable concerns of investors. Stay blind.

Fan of the channel. I agree with some of your points but some of the points I think you've missed the target specially on Elon compensation and threat! Agree that Elon was at roughly ~25% before the Tweeter/X acquisition and he should have used $ from his other private companies not Tesla's stock. But I do agree Elon needs a new package as he has been working for free for the past two years. He has explained in many occasions that the $ is not what's important to him but control. He is building a very critical/power-full technology he wants to be a good steward. Elon's have learned from the openIA scenario and just wants to be careful. He explained in a few occasion including the earning calls but you going back to the original X's post and not reiterate to your listener the entire story is not ok in my view.

Investing in Tesla is in many ways investing in Elon.. at least in part. Which means you need to be ok with his antics and personality. While you make very good objective points, this is the nature of the genius. It’s not for everyone. I personally think the business needs to catch up to the evaluation and we’ll see some nice buying opportunities along the way, so I’m ok with what’s happening to the stock at the moment

Einstein was a genius, and never told anyone he depended on what Musk said in public. That's his Achilles Heel right there. His latitude for such childish behaviours is narrowing. He needs both Twitter and Tesla to grow, and ad revenue does that.

you need to stop calling the POS a "AI company". They are a company that arguably "uses AI". But even that is a dubious claim.

Whoa ! Tesla shareholders did NOT pay for Twitter. Don't forget those shares belong to Elon.

Elon is a liability to Tesla. Initially he was good at creating hype and free advertisement, but Tesla is now too mature, too large and too important to be headed up by a man child.

Great video overall, but I feel like you took some serious copium. Teslas self driving is no where near the leaders in this area at this point, even with their great head start. Part of it is insisting on inferior technology like cameras instead of stuff like lidar.

Elon is great and he wants more control because he has seen what happens just like open AI was a non profit and open source and got to where it is now by having that badge of non profit but it's now private for profit multi billion dollar business. Elon cut ties and hopefully everyone can see Elon is for the betterment of humanity and is most definitely on the good side 99% of the time

Elon, always says what’s on his mind. That’s why his true fans love him. Just as trump says what’s on his mind and people love him for it.

And I absolutely respect that. But what he says and does in regards to *Twitter* shouldn't be paid for by *Tesla* shareholders.

That threat on AI when he already has a lackey board was outrageous. It made me cheer for his pay package being over turned when previously was only mildly annoyed by it. The description of 0 bargaining and push back by the board in2018 made the recent request look even more ridiculous

Well, I lost faith in Elon long ago. His recent antics are just... well, more of the same. As long as he is in control of any company, I would not own any of its stock. Not Tesla, not Twitter (X), not SpaceX, _none_ of them. Elon is simply unstable and does not deserve my loyalty as an investor.

Investing isn't a religion. Its about concrete results. Underpromising and overdelivering is a habit Elon needs to acquire, and diluting investors stock will not strengthen their trust in him. I think he wsnts his cake and to eat it too. He wants to run Tesla like it was a private company, but he also likes the attention and capital gains from having public stockholders. Unfottunately, thats impossible in Delaware corporate law. So he's playing a game of chicken with his shareholders. His lawyers will have akready told him that his only choice is either to reincorporate Tesla in a jurisdiction that allows shadow control of corporations, or dilute the existing shares by giving him more shares. Its a win-lose proposition for both sides, because cash and collateral is short right now, so the last thing the shareholders want is a devaluation of their stock in the current climate. So this is a battle where the space for hopium to hold the day is narrowing as the real economy is showing obvious signs of distress. The institutional investors are bound by their liability investing schedules, and if their stock is diluted, their valuations will have to be downgraded in the near-term, and that would put them under pressure. Elon wouldnt mind if they reduced their holdings, as he could possibly get financed to buy up those shares. He would have to pay a hefty price for it though, because credit risk is really important now, and he'd need to offer collateral. So he wants them to relinquish both power and money... Boy, is this going to be interesting to see how it plays out. "There's many a slip between cup and lip", and Elon is playing with real poker diehards. Lol.

To analize tesla as a car company is missing the end game. Tesla's future profit engine is FSD. It's like selling as much razors at low profit so you can make higher profit on the blade sales in the future. Especially if other car companies will also license the FSD technology. Owning more data generaters on the road is the key to develope the best FSD technology.

When you talk about Dojo being a "longshot" (13:55), which is what Musk himself called it during the Q3 earnings call, it's actually more like a moonshot. The sadly non-existent D1 cells (that you showed) are a pipe dream - Dojo actually uses 10,000 off-the-shelf Nvidea H100 GPUs (Announced on Twitter/X in August 2023 by Tim Zaman). This many GPUs seems impressive, until you realize that Microsoft and Meta each bought 150,000 H100s in 2023 alone and even TikTok bought 20,000 of them!

Reading Elon's tweets at face value is likely a gross error. It is not what the tweet says, it is the RESULT it causes that matters. He is likely trying to save Tesla, not abandon it like you suggest, and will say whatever it takes to attain that result.

Your point of view is understandable, Elon is a blessing and a curse sometimes. Tsla is about a third of my stock portfolio, feels like being stuck in amber lately with all the can kicking down the road. Glad I bought some nvidia five years ago, helps ease the short term blues. All he's saying is he would build AI in another legal entity he controls 100%. Is there any doubt he wouldn't license the technology to Tesla? All Teslas vehicles (and manufacturing) would still reap the benefits of the technology. So there wouldn't really be a loss to Tesla's value.
