*LYRICS - It's Over (Petersen original)* ------------ How do I tell you it's over? How can I convince you to move on? How can I get you to see That your last love won't be me? That all that we once had is now gone? Yes, it's true in the past that I loved you But those tears that I've cried are no more Please just try to understand That you'll never be my man My heart has gone away and closed the door How do I tell you it's over? How can I convince you to move on? How can I get you to see That your last love won't be me? That all that we once had is now gone? Now, please don't ask the things you could work on Don't you see, dear, you've done nothing wrong? I just came to let you know That my answer's still a 'no' Your love for me has lasted far too long How do I tell you it's over? How can I convince you to move on? How can I get you to see That your last love won't be me? That all that we once had is now gone? Well, look right there, Sally-Anne, she's a nice girl And I've heard my mama say she's sweet on you Well, I've tried my very best Won't you please give me a rest? Just go on now and find somebody new How do I tell you it's over? How can I convince you to move on? How can I get you to see That your last love won't be me? That all that we once had is now gone? Oh honey, how do I tell you it's over? How can I convince you to move on? How can I get you to see That your last love won't be me? That all that we once had is now gone? How can I get you to see That your last love won't be me? Yeah, all we had once is now gone Album: Live Sessions, vol. 03 and Shenandoah

@bobdawkins74733 жыл бұрын
@@stevebilliter I agree with you on the topic sure :) There's nothing happy about it, which is why it's better to make such things into humour than offense or sadness. Live to be happy through the thick and the thin makes us all stronger. Nobody was dumped or punched in the throat during the making of this video. I've been dumped and I have dumped too. It's never easy, but it's sometimes the best way for both without realising. There's always enough people in the world for someone to find another and whilst I may never get to marry Julianne Peterson I must not put on a sad face :) and I hope she finds someone's nice to appreciate her one day XD

Musical growth can often come from taking a kernel and expanding upon it. I often tell young singers to listen for that one line, or even one word, that resonates into their soul when they sing it. A good example is the line "I'd buy your love" in If I Had a Million Dollars by the Barenaked Ladies. I recall singing it once at karaoke when that line started with 2 of us, and then grew to 3, and then to 4 by the end of the song. We were no longer singing to entertain anyone other than ourselves with the pure joy of hearing how we blended. A lot of people see If I Had a Million Dollars as a "gimmick" song, and it is. Except for that line. I was an American Idol watcher when Simon predicted that Carrie Underwood would be the greatest, and he was most certainly right, just as he was right about others who have had stellar careers. One thing that I picked up from Simon is to finish strong. The classic Western Swing finish of Its Over, while made to seem simple here, is likely the end result of a lot of hard work. And it leaves me wanting the next one. Please keep writin em and layin em down.

That song is just a great tribute to the old Western Swing bands. At age 70 it is my motivation to lose enough weight to get back to dancing to that pace of music. There is absolutely no way to feel anything but positive about life while dancing that fast with a partner who gets it. The thing I love most about dancing that way is that any Western Dance is designed to show off the skill of the woman partner, meaning all I need to do is hang on and enjoy. And it brings back memories of all the beautiful ladies I have shared a dance floor with in the last 45+ years. Thank you to the Petersons. Keep on keeping on.
