I used to work in the resturant and we used to buy it for $750. Find the Italian supplier which imports from Italy and then you are set.

@@katiejenkins4532 In your check-in luggage, there is I think 2 or 3 bottles per person max (but I think it is more for the wine and other alcohol that you should be getting at the duty-free with no restrictions anyway), you should consult with the airline you are traveling with beforehand. Other than that, you might have a problem with meat products, depending on the destination country. The cheese and dry goods as long as they are packaged, they can go in any bag.

I actually worked in a cheese shop and those wheels very because we used to have one that we had to have our manager who was a bodybuilder lift up for us and I used to crack it like you do and I loved it. I loved doing it and I don’t know why.

Agreed. This is Parmiggiano Regiano (origin protected), and the one they make everywhere else (think Belarus, Argentina etc) is parmesan.

The Italian viewpoint is that they own Parmesan and only Parmiggiano Reggiano is parmesan. The US viewpoint is that they already recognize the DOP Parmiagiano Reggiano and that Parmesan is a generic term like Cheddar.

My papi use to do this when we were kids but it was an aged cheese from Mexico. It tasted like aged jack cheese but melted like mozzarella, you could melt it directly on the cast iron pan! Awe good times!

The difference in taste is the real difference. Parmigiano reggiano tastes almost nothing like Parmesan. the taste is incredibly dense and in your face

It really depends where you are if there is a difference. In the US, Parmesan isn’t a protected term but in the EU, Parmesan is protected because it’s just an anglicized name for Parmiggiano Reggiano

@@aidanspencer2721 in the EU, Parmesan is the name term FOR Parmigiano reggiano, which is only produced in Italy. In America, Parmesan is a generic term, and Parmigiano reggiano is the name term for, well.. that. Point being, everywhere, there is a difference lol.
