The greens that you are using look like our greens in the fall. It seems like people stop fixing their ball marks once fall arrives. We arrive at the greens, and they look like they have experienced hail damage. Luckily there aren't many golfers out once the weather cools down, so we have plenty of time to repair a bunch of marks every time we play.

This is why I switched to the claw grip. Ive had so much more success keeping a straight takeaway. Way more success on 3-6ft putts especially. Long putts are a little harder to keep the line but I’ll trade that any day for those 3-6ft morale destroyers/boosters.

I have mallet putter and have found I miss left when ball position is a bit ahead of center. Its strange and I don't like it but when I put ball at middle or even a ball right of center I make more short putts. I'm a 10 handicap.

I am a 20 plus handicap and it is not my putting, that is the strongest part of my game. Do I get three putts, of course who doesn't? Right now our greens are picking up speed, so it may take a couple of rounds to get speed down again. My advice is don't over think it. Go with your gut, that is my biggest mistake I overthink the putt and I talk myself out of following my first read. Look at the green as you approach you will be surprised how much you improve.

Haha, I have an effective way to reduce 3 putts. Just miss more greens, leaving a short chip instead of a long putt. ;) Now, if I could just make all those 5-10 footers.....
