Harry, you are correct. From what I’ve read, the song was written byJoe Brooks as a love song but Debbie Boone was inspired to sing it as a tribute to God.

When this song came out, it was played to death on the radio. I liked it the first 4,000 times I heard it, but then it got old. It is, however, a really good song and Debbie (daughter of Pat) Boone has a beautiful voice. Great reaction, Harri. 👍👍

Doubtful. She was dating this masculine hunky dude who used to be what they called a disco king, which meant he ruled the dance floor at the local disco every Friday and Saturday night. Now, she did not try to be a disco queen, or what ABBA called a dancing queen. Her dancing was more relegated to slow ones. But I hear the sparks between them were so loud and explosive the fire department had to be called.

Nice review Harri! Please consider giving Three Dog Night some more songs. Also Blood, Sweat and Tears,. I think you would be truly impressed by Peter Gabriel’s live videos from The Secret World Tour. Also Pete Townsend’s solo work like “Give Blood”, “Face the Face” and “Slit Skirts”.. a couple of hits from the group called Madness; “Out House”, “One Step Beyond” and the “House of Fun”. Lastly you must consider “Until the Night” & “Captain Jack” from Billy Joel’s incredible catalog. Thanks again for your considerations!Rochester, NY is leaving the building! Please take care1

That's thinking too much into it, it's meant to be a testament to the loved one in your life that gives you the support and love to be a better you. Many wedding receptions have had this played through the years. There's love songs that are perfect, and this isn't one of them. It's way over the top, and you can smell the cheese a mile away...lol. Now, Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross "Endless Love" just right amount without going overboard. Just an observation.

I think it's best to hear her sing it but yeah, was more of a pop song. She didn't have a band to back her up so just an orchestra backup. Debbie is the daughter of Pat Boone if you ever do a reaction of him. Seems more of a love song to me than religious but yet she came from a religious background. The lyrics toward the end of it sounds more lover like to me than religious.
