Twenty-three years on from the tragic murder of BBC's Crimewatch host Jill Dando, new evidence in a separate court hearing suggests that the murder was a case of mistaken identity with Lisa Brinkworth, another journalist. New court papers accuse Gerald Marie, 72, of using the Russian Mafia to try and kill Lisa.
These new court papers suggest Gerald Marie, a former French modelling agency boss, put a hit out on Lisa after she had exposed him as a suspected sex abuser. The lawyers in this case suggest the mistaken identity could have come due to the similarities in appearance, both of them working for the BBC and that they both lived in the same area of West London.
Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by Nick Ross who was co-presenter with Dando on BBC's Crimewatch to give his reaction to this new evidence. He describes it as just another conspiracy theory and goes on to say how "depressing" this whole case is and that this is just another example of journalists trying to get a big story. Nick also shuts down the idea of this case being an 'unsolved mystery' but says he wouldn't feel better if someone was imprisoned for the crime.
