He was so tolerant. It’s good to see a mixed breed rescue dog who is that big have a good temperament. So many end up discarded simply because they were never trained properly & become almost unmanageable. 😢💜

I only had larger mixed dogs in my life, and they were all angels. In my experience it's the other way round. The pure breds are the ones with naughty personalities or health issues. But that's just my personal experience I can be wrong ofc

I founded & ran a rescue for a specific breed that can become a nightmare for a variety of reasons (thankfully size wasn’t one of them, but behavioral issues were definitely common as well as health problems that were sometimes breed specific). We were always busy, always. We had the highest kill shelter in the entire country in my city not to mention the tons of owner surrenders we took in. We covered our entire state, which was challenging. I’m apparently crazy, because I never turned away a dog that needed us. It was a full time job on top of my full time job! Because so many of my fosters needed manners, I spent a LOT of time in obedience classes & because I’d networked with other rescue folks of various kinds, we usually could almost fill up 6 sets of 8 week beginners classes per year just among us around our area. That’s where I saw that bigger dogs presented bigger problems because too many people can be unprepared for the reality of owning a dog that weighs more than they do. It’s actually more of a people problem than a dog problem, now that I think about it. 🙂💜

@@jlntpy1706 If bred correctly with constant introduction of new DNA and proper care pure breed dogs can be wonderful but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the norm. Mixed breed dogs and especially "Mutts" (many breeds mixed) are often more healthy due to better genetic diversity and seem to be appreciative of the rescue or something like that. Just my opinion on that last part but i've always found it to be true.

That has to be the most chill dog in a while, Vanessa! Aside from the sitting, Bucky really seemed to enjoy every bit of the grooming. And the amount of coat that blew out was astounding. At the end, when you were sitting with him on the floor, it looked like a teenager and their dog just chilling. Did they give you any idea of his weight, because Bucky sure was a big boy. Fantastic video.
