Thanks for the love and support everyone. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I'm extremely grateful for all the support and kindness. Unfortunately this ride wiped me out for quite a while, but the emotional therapy was so worth it. I am beyond grateful for ibis for producing this tool to help me in my recovery.

Could you tell us how bad is your MECFS ? Me i cant bike more than 1 km. Im curious if a ebike would let me do enough to buy one. And what trigger yours?

Finally, I've been waiting and hoping for this to drop. So wonderful to see you hit the trails again, Steve, even if it is on an e-mtb. I don't know if this translates correctly, but I guess when the need is great, even the Devil eats flies 😋 Jokes aside, I l-o-v-e Ibis for putting up the resources that lets you get out there in trying times. There just arn't enough words to describe the healing force of spending time outside in nature, you know, feeling the wind on your face and enjoying the immense feeling of freedom from something as simple as a bike ride. It's powerful, and because ME also can be hard on your mental health, it's key to keep riding and doing things that make you happy to prevent your condition from dragging your mind into a black hole. I wouldn't be surprised if a tear ran down your face on that ride, and not just from the wind :-) Godspeed on your recovery, Steve, hang in there and beat this sh*t 🤜🤛

Glad you're out riding! My 74 yr old friend just purchased a road E-bike recently. He doesn't ride mtn bikes, but he loves the road. He started cycling 8 yrs ago and 4 yrs ago started having health issues that affected his breathing. He went from doing 100+ miles down to barely 30. We went out Saturday, and he was able to do a very hilly 50 miler. It was awesome to see him actually enjoying the ride and smiling. I had bought him and another friend a stem cap with the words, "Enjoy the Ride." Something we all need to do, forget the mileage, speed, averages, or elevations. Get back to what riding was when we were all kids. I am still standing in Faith with you and the family for complete recovery.

Steve , you’re a great person and man. It brings me great joy to see you so happy again. It’s crazy that you rode 50 miles in a day on the Arizona trail with Dan Stanton. Take care of your mental health; it’s hugely impactful of your physical health. Best Ezra ❤

We don’t care Steve it’s you we enjoy. You responded to me receiving the New Marin SQ3 29er. That being said when you receive that Marin SQ3 I’d suggest you get a large. I love my 27.5 but am glad I opted the 29er as the fork will take a 27.5+ as well. Mine is a large/ felt the XL is huge and I’m toying with a 50-60mm length stem as it comes with that goofy 35mm 😂 the bars are far behind the axle line stock and have traded the saddle out for a longer railed one to increase my effective top tube/reach. I love the 77* ST but asks for the longer stem. The bike is great but it’s more mtb for me with DJ/BMX tied into one. Love the insurance of slack HT. Mine has a 170mm dropper that I have pulled out about idk 70-90mm. I just ordered a one up 240mm to slam it. Went with the thin red RF-Chester’s. No pedal strikes on the 29er wheels. I also have some 40mm riser bars on the way. Im 6’-3/4” tall and 32-33” inseam. I do love the steep seated position you mention and am able to sit more on the seat without my inner legs scrubbing it, or favoring the rear outer. I find the bike to be crazy fast. My heart goes out to your wife as her Man is in a valley and pray the lord puts his hedge of protection on you/family. For ever and ever 🙏 ST length is 410mm so it will be plenty low enough for you with the 170mm cranks which I enjoy. The wheelbase is longer for your terrain in what your used to. The bike is specked wonderfully and I went with ARDENT exo’s front and rear. Im riding San Tan mtn Queen creek Az. Hawes red mtn, south mtn etc. wheelies/manuals bunny hood etc.

That was really good to see you on an ebike. Honestly, I would love to ride one here at Turkey Mountain. I see people going up the hills so much faster than me. I feel so worn out at the top that I want to rest for around 10 minutes so I can enjoy the downhill. The ebikes leave me in the dust. But it definitely is not how fast or how far we ride. It is about how much glory that we give to Jesus Christ when we ride. So it is all about Him and the joy of riding!

So happy to see you enjoying a mtb ride again! Ebikes sometimes get a bad rap. Too many people think ebike riders are just lazy. But I've met a lot of ebikers who have them because of various physical issues they have, and their ebike gives them that extra help they need to do something that gives them a lot of joy. Here's to hoping that they continue to allow ebikes on trails, and open more trails up to their use.

Great way to socialize with friends and family while taking it easy. You like nature so look into games like Parks, Wingspan, Cascadia. Your local Barnes and Noble and Target have decent selections. Reading rules can be daunting sometimes but there’s great KZbin videos that teach popular games, like “Watch it played” Good luck on your recovery ❤️
