It is known that already in ancient Egypt purslane was used as a medicinal plant, adding leaves and stems to food. Purslane seeds have been found during excavations in Greece; their "age" is 16 thousand years. In ancient Greece, purslane was also more of a medicine than food, which is confirmed by the writings of Hippocrates. Purslane was used to treat insomnia, wounds, snake bites, and intestinal diseases. It is known that Theophrastus, the ancient Greek naturalist and father of modern botany, recommended purslane as a cure for heart failure, inflammation of the joints, dry skin, scurvy and other ailments. Pliny the Elder described this plant among others, "mandatory to use", and the famous Arab physician Avicenna considered it one of the most important natural medicines.

Onion -1-2 pcs
Garlic - 4 cloves
Tomatoes - 4 pcs (500 g)
Rice - 1st.l.
Vegetable (olive) oil - 60 ml (5 tablespoons)
Salt 1/2 tsp
Ground black pepper 1/4 tsp
Sweet or hot paprika - optional
Sugar 1/2-1 tsp
Add all spices to your taste.

Vegetable oil - 30-40 ml.

Paprika
In Turkey, such a dish is served as a cold appetizer with Greek yogurt (I think because of the heat). To be honest, it's delicious in any form! :))
