@armourdetailsupply My wheels are an extreme case with 6 piston brakes and track pads. I can clean them fully and they’re nasty again in a week of commuting. Do you think your quartz pro or pro stack would work better than the wheel coating?

@@chrisbradley3224 to be quite honest I cannot tell you as I haven’t used their wheel coating yet or apply their pro Quartz on wheels. Best person to ask is @armourdetailsupply I don’t want to give you any wrong information. I can ask them as well for my knowledge.

No.. no product on earth is going to make them not get nasty in a week. Just clean them weekly. Or even every few days with a touchless method of just spraying a wheel cleaner, letting it dwell, and pressure washing it off.@@chrisbradley3224

I just used the regular ADS Quartz on my 2022 Elantra N and it came out great! The paint had 2 year old Gyeon Q2 Pure EVO on it and it was topped with many things over 2 years, plus maintained with quality soaps, both pH nuetral and Bilt-Hamber Touchless and Auto-foam. I had extra applicators at the ready but only used the 1 that came with the kit, used both sides and they never got crusty during application (followed the directions for initial prep) I used 2 towels to wipe it off and that worked great, this stuff comes off easy👍👍

Awesome work! That paint looks fantastic-I’m gonna take a look at that water spot remover. What kind of weather/humidity did you have for this application? I’m coating with this in a couple weeks. I talked with the guys at Nasiol US and they said we’ll be able to buy those GlassShield towels in bulk. We can also use towels/applicators that don’t have a lot of texture/pile to them
@DetailingMadeSimple10 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yeah I used the diy waterspot remover for the minerals. But to diminish some of the scaling I tried Energo from Labocosmetica 3:1 which is not recommended by them the highest they say is 5:1 dilution which wasn’t doing anything so when I went 3:1 it helped and some of the scaling was removed. As for the weather it was about 50 degrees that day humidity maybe 20% was a pretty dry day that day. Great to know with Nasiol cause that towel is not it bro we need more also awesome we can use non pile cotton towels as well I just need to find them.

Looks bangin'! Yvan has really made me think, while a 15mm DA is ok, I think I'm gonna start using a 21mm. Much better/faster cutting ability and can still finish just fine on hard paint. AMMO Nyc alway uses a 21mm, even on soft paint, which I find intersting.

How do you manage to do a big surface like a hood or a truck bed with ceramic? Do you do section and remove it then move to a different section? How do you manage to not overlap the coverage? Or am I just kverthinking it?
@DetailingMadeSimple10 ай бұрын
Just apply it as such section by section if you slightly over lap nothing happens. Doesn’t hurt or make it more durable. You’re just overthinking. Think of it like coloring. You don’t do it by sections and never overlap. You just fill in and ensure it’s even coverage and even finish. Same for this. Apply in sections if you slightly overlap it’s all good no harm no foul. 💪💪 I overlap a couple inches always. From the previous section it’s not perfection we are going after it’s even coverage

Do you coat the trim and front/rear plastics ? The bumper ?
@DetailingMadeSimple10 ай бұрын
No I personally don’t coat the plastic trim I prefer to use a trim restorer like solution finish or dress it depending what the customer chooses. I need to talk to lithium in terms of their ceramic cubes because I want to make sure it doesn’t permanently seal the pores and overtime it can accept another trim cube years later. As for the front grill when I comes for a follow up wash I’ll spray a spray of rinse off protection like quick beads and give protection that way 👍

Sol is more aggressive than DIY gold standard?
@DetailingMadeSimple10 ай бұрын
Yes for me it’s slightly more aggressive as it’s considered a medium cut polish that’s pad dependent. Where as GS is a hybrid can cut very good and finish a lot nicer covers more of a spectrum than Sole in my opinion and experience. But we are pulling hairs in terms of cutting it’s not a make or break. But if need a bit more oomf to remove topical stubborn etchings I’d go with sole if GS didn’t cut it
@seabrew110 ай бұрын
@@DetailingMadeSimple both are medium cut polishes IMO. All compounds/polishes are pad dependent - silly nonsense. Hybrid is a buzzword.
@DetailingMadeSimple10 ай бұрын
@@seabrew1 of course all polishes are pad dependent. But I've never had results with a wool pad with sonax perfect finish to where it removed defects. Whether hybrid is a word or not it doesn't deter that some compounds and polishes cut or finishes down better than others if we are talking about trying to one step a paint.
@orthodox171710 ай бұрын
While GS polish is excellent, it's not the end all, be all like it's marketed to be. It doesn't cut as good as a true compound and does not finish as good as a true finishing polish. I'd put it in the same league as 3D One. To be honest, I use several other polishes/compounds over GS polish. There are times where GS can cut and finish perfect as a 1-step, but.... Also, if youre not washing your pad out after every pass, I wouldn't use GS polish. It's too concentrated and it will saturate the pad quickly. You can't blow it out as easily as other polishes. My opinion, of course.
@DetailingMadeSimple10 ай бұрын
@@orthodox1717 that’s true. For the gold standard it’s not the heavy cutting and not the most jeweling. But for a large spectrum it can get 80-90% of paints look amazing and glossy. That’s why I like GS. Now in terms of 3D vs GS I prefer GS. Easier wipe off for me and better finishing. Plus it’s just one spray on the pad very easy and simple 👍
