@@nelsboatlife6009 I wish one time you could be at the Point Defiance park boat ramps in Tacoma. You wouldn’t see people wearing 25 cent outfits driving quarter of a million dollar rigs, but you will see for the most part a group practicing good seamanship.

Here in the west we don't stage on the dock, we drop off the truck driver off and we pull out and wait till driver arrives and backing in trailer then we pull boat into trailer and go. newbies and rookies need to learn the correct way..

Exactly, In Texas the same, most people are on and off the ramp in under 2-3 mins tops, everyone is IN the boat for launching, plug in, straps off, back the boat in, wife starts it and I'm disconnecting the front strap, she motions its started as I'm walking back to the cab, back it up a few more feet off she goes. And I'm off the ramp, reverse for loading....lol...we never tied to the dock....never

Wife and I do the same. Do all our prep in line, I back in with her in it, she floats off I pull away and park. Launched in 30 seconds. She will circle around until I come out to the dock. Loading is pretty much the same in reverse. And I’m talking about an inboard ski boat.

Before we dock the boat we take into account the wind and current. Then the bow and stern lines are attached, as well as fenders. This has served us well so far and my wife and I manage with no difficulties. These captains need to communicate with others on the boat with instructions and intentions.

...and if folks aren't helping because the skipper is always cranky and mad that the crew isn't dong it right (or just cranky) then the skipper is at fault because needs to take time to train folks and not blow a gasket. Boating can be fun...but also stressful! 😀

In Norway we never launch or pull a boat like u do over there. Trailer under water, almost the car too. Imagine what it will do with brakes and electrical system. We stop the trailer when sealevel hits bottom om the trailer wheel rim, using trailer winch to launhing/pull the boat safely.
