I cannot tell you how many hundreds of fishing videos I've watched on KZbin and by far and with all honesty, none can compare to yours. They are thoroughly enjoyable and engaging. You have a knack of putting us all there. Why you haven't a syndicated show or a contract with a cable network is beyond me but I can't thank you enough for keeping this old guy in the game.

This is exactly why I am on that smallie kick!!! But I am fishing streams that a kayak would not be suitable for!!! But luckily for me I can still catch those trout while fishing for them. But your videos have taught me so much on smallmouth. Even though they are a bass they do not always act like the largemouth. But now i guess I need to get the 75 and a spook!!! Now the wife is going to get mad for me buying more lures!!!

I am from TX and have never been to MN, but I bet I can guess EXACTLY where you fish.... and I am planning a trip up there for this seasons smallie opener at the end of May... I won't say it here, but I know of a specific power station's architectural influence up there and you fish by it several times in your videos. Tight lines friend. Can't wait to try those waters. If you ever want to come to Fort Worth TX, I can show some nice hidden spots here.

Hi Matt, you always smash them! I coincidentally have a Tackle Warehouse order on its way, with you guessed it, two 75-size Whopper Ploppers in "I know it color" and "Bluegill" colors. I got the 75 for the Peacock Bass down here in Southeast Florida since they tend to like smaller baits. Also, Ty from "30 miles out" You-tube Channel uses a lot of wake baits so I tried some out last weekend and by-golly the peacocks and largemouths couldn't stay away. I snagged 8 fish on the wakebait alone. Give the wakebait a try on the smallies. I think you'll do well. Don't laugh; still nothing on a frog. Whatever! Get Hocked.

Could you imagine a 30 miles out + NDYak meet up? That would be awesome!

wake bait's are great if the conditions are right, sometimes after a big rain they won't hit them but otherwise they flat out work :-) These are realy good and cheap: www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress%E2%84%A2-scsfw-wake-bait

I was waiting for an original red-head spook video! Awesome as always! It's been a real disappointment this late summer/fall over here in PA. It's been raining and flooding all summer and the river is virtually infishable. It's a shame because Iv'e caught some toads out of here in the past and this fall it just hasn't stopped running high!
@ndyakangler6 жыл бұрын
It’s been windy here the last couple weeks. It makes for a tough bite but I’ve been getting at least a few big fish each trip out. They seem to be in a transition phase right now too. There’s been some giant smallies I’ve dangled a jig in front of but couldn’t get them to bite. Once we get a couple cold days they should get into more of a biting mood.
@Realwobbler6 жыл бұрын
Really good day of fishing, lots of big smallmouth! The weather looks fine there too, it is still hot over here and fish are not in a biting mood.

It’s been a little tough here the last couple weeks too. I see a ton of fish but can only get a few to bite. It’s been windy though which never helps and the fish seem to be in that fall transition phase. A couple cold days should really get them going!

Great video! I like the addition of the new camera angles, but I also really miss the first-person shots. Your skill at casting is remarkable, and those shots from your hat-mounted cam really let us see how you are selecting your targets and putting the lure exactly where you want it. For me, the combination of the hat-mounted cam and the one from the front of your boat would be perfect. Keep up the great work!
@ndyakangler6 жыл бұрын
The only problem is I look like a goof ball with the hat cam rig on if I used it in combination with that front camera rig lol. These on board camera rigs are nice at certain times but it’s tough keeping the kayak pointed where I’m casting in some of those spots where the river narrows and the current picks up. The hat cam is a lot easier to point at where I want to film.

As always it's fun watching you smoke topwater smallies. Two questions though - first water temp. wise what do you find is the cut off for topwater smallies into the fall? And secondly, do you prefer the 75/ 90 /or 110 WP better as an all-round topwater lure?
@ndyakangler6 жыл бұрын
Mid 50’s F they’ll start slapping at it and missing more often than not, 52 they seem to lose interest. The 75 is my new go to. They all catch fish but the 75 gives me less frustration from line twist.

Not trying to fish out location but I have a general idea of the river you are on. My question is...could a 14 ft Lund navigate these upper stretches? Using a trolling motor? And yes these are some of the best fishing videos online!
@ndyakangler5 жыл бұрын
I’ve never seen anything bigger than a Jon boat on this river. Most of the stretches I fish don’t even have a boat launch, just a carry in access. There are a couple lakes it flows through you could launch on but getting up river from those spots would be difficult.

how is the weather up there in ND? We are expecting frost on Sat morning here in South East Wis, but I am going out anyways :-)
@ndyakangler6 жыл бұрын
Upper 40’s for highs the next few days. We might get a little frost the next couple mornings too. Time to dig out some of the winter gear, I’m planning on being on the water at sunrise tomorrow and Saturday. Usually that first time I have to get out the winter jacket I hammer them on topwater.

NDYakAngler Yep that's my plan as well for sat morning, cold be damned :-) I got a few of the new berkely wakebull wake bait's last week so plan on trying those out as well as my DIY manual power pole. Tim Booker They’re locked up pretty tight when you first get them. If you hold one handle in each hand with the tool end pointed away from you lift up on the right side and push down on the left and they should pop open.

Have you ever flipped over? I was in my kayak for only the third time, in a calm creek, sitting still, and suddenly the kayak flipped over. I think the back of the yak got up on a rock, or limb then I reached to one side, and suddenly I was in the water with the yak upside down. I was wearing a PFD, but it was a very unexpected and scary situation. I managed to get the boat upright, collect my gear, and re-enter. I paddled to a little "island" to dry off, and collect my thoughts. It was mostly cloudy, and cooler with occasional sun, but I was cold. I had enough emergency supplies to build a little fire, and dry off. Had the water, or weather been colder I would have been in a much more serious situation. Any safety tips? I also broke one of my rods. : (

Hi quick question for you, do you use a external microphone for your action cams?
@ndyakangler6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I use a Zoom H1 to record audio and swap it in editing.
@BassManStrikes6 жыл бұрын
is it hard to sync it up using a completely separate recording device?
@ndyakangler6 жыл бұрын
Not really once you do it a couple times, it just adds time to the editing process if anything. It all depends on the software you use too. I always try to hit start/stop record on both devices at close to the same time too, that way it makes it easier to find which files go together when I’m editing.
