So glad you decided to join the fun this summer! And thanks for the kind shout-out :) Kristin Hannah is great! I really enjoyed Firefly Lane and The Nightingale (keep the tissues handy for those two), and I'm currently listening to The Women on audio (outstanding so far!). I've heard good things about Betty and about The Paying Guest, too. I haven't read Sarah Waters yet, either. My book group just read Homecoming recently, and I enjoyed it. FYI - the Christmas Eve start is actually a flashback. I've been meaning to read Middlesex for years! I've only read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (one of my favorites!) but nothing else from her. I read Middlemarch for a book group about 10 years ago, and I really enjoyed it - more than I expected to! I loved her wit. LOVED the Goldfinch! Great story and characters with a great sense of humor. Love Andrew Solomon! I haven't actually read any of his books yet, but I've heard him on podcasts and TED talks, and he's amazing. I really need to read that. I was blown away by I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and always meant to read more of her memoirs - I didn't know there was an omnibus edition with all of them (and sure it counts!). Some great choices! I’ve been meaning to read the Solomon book for years! I’m curious about what work you do in dealing with this population. I do too! I’m also curious as to where you found the Maya Angelou bind up. Wow. That would be awesome to find. And how incredible to hear her speak. That’s a wonderful experience. 😊

I work with college students with disabilities to get assessments and accommodations. I got the Maya Angelou bind up years ago at Barnes and Noble, I think. It’s a great collection! And see her in person was a magical evening! Thanks for watching!

@@Michelelynnreads That is such an important career! one of my sons wouldn't have been as successful in college without people like you! I work in a medical clinic and all of my patients are IDD (not quite as high functioning as those you see but on that spectrum).
