New videos will go live on Thursdays! P.S. Thanks for watching and for all the positive comments! I’m so glad this resonates with y’all and I’m not the only one going through a season of reinvention. xo

Yes for reinventing yourself! I am in my late 30s in my life has changed so much from 10 years ago. My style is different my schedule is different everything is different. I sew my clothes and also buy from the store so I am in the process of replacing my wardrobe. I am also decorating my house. Oh yeah I joined a gym too because my body was getting super stiff. I also was winded going up the stairs which was ridiculous. I feel so much better now!
@Naakie2 жыл бұрын
Yes to all of this! Especially knowing how to sew your own clothes. I love it. There's something to be said about being able to walk up the stairs without getting tired 😭 makes you feel like a whole new person

I'm glad that you mentioned the aesthetic thing, that you got lost in, yes the aesthetic style is cute..but like you mentioned you lost your individuality (which is important). A lot of people are still in the sunken place with that aesthetic thing lol. I don't know how I just discovered your channel. New subscriber!

I been looking for a video like this for months about other women in their 30s feeling the same way as I. I knew I wasn’t alone!

You said a lot in this video, but I think the main takeaway is that you are currently going through a transition. It’s amazing that you even recognize it for what is is because transitions are often noticed/recognized in hindsight. One thing that you’ve said that resonates with me is that we are “allowed to do both”. We are dynamic as humans and we are allowed to like different things, and pursue multiple passions, and change over time. This is something I’m leaning in to as a lesson for myself. Not just that I am allowed to change, but that the people closest to me are able to as well, and we shouldn’t hold them to such stringent expectations. 🙂 Keep glowing and growing, Naakie!!

I understand the weight gain thing. I'm also in my 30s. Gaining weight was my goal (finally got serious) for the last two years. I ate at a calorie surplus and was able to gain over 25 lbs. This is without going to the gym. If you give your body more food than it requires to function, it will store it. It has no other choice. I used Boost Very High Calorie (530 calories per serving) too because that was too many calories to get just from food. I hope you can reach your health goals!

The makeup part resonates most with me. I’m turning 27 this year and have NEVER even wore foundation besides getting my makeup done for my wedding! But now I’m pregnant with baby #1 and learning to do my makeup and it’s so fun! Also my style is changing so much as well and I’m sure it will change again as I enter into motherhood. I loved this video and you look gorgeous as always sis! ❤

Great video. The fun thing about a black woman is we can change our hair. I don’t think anything is wrong with that or letting someone else take care of it for you. I feel the same the older I get the more self care is important to me. Making sure my hair is done which was always a thing, getting my nails and feet done, making sure I look up to par when stepping out of the house. I am also trying to find more ways to incorporate god in my life and make that a routine as well.

Naakie this is awesome! Fellow shorty here (4’ 7.5”) 😊 Three months ago I sought out the help of a nutritionist to help me improve my diet & eating habits (bc like you I fail to eat regularly especially if I’m busy). She’s been a tremendous help and I’m so glad I did this for myself. Good luck to you & please keep us updated on your reset progress🎉

This entire video resonated. When did you jump into my head and start taking notes? I mean it. Nearly everything you touched on is what I've been grappling with too. The hit to the heart I took when you brought up your body. Same here. In every way. Except for the booty. I don't have that. 😅Not having "an adult woman's body" has been a sore point for me since puberty skipped me in grade school. I've gotten better about excepting it for the blessing that it is. 🙏 All that to say, I feel you. Finding routines is a necessity for me and I'm having the damnedest time doing it. I feel like I'm on the cusp of real change but it's taking its sweet time! This video has come at a perfect time. Thank you for posting it. I think a lot of people are going to be able to relate. Also, make the switch. If in your heart of hearts, you feel it's the right move, those who come here for your wisdom and advice will see you on Thursday or Friday. Alright, this was a lot. I'm looking forward to your next video. ❤

So glad this video resonated with you! "I feel like I'm on the cup of real change but it's taking it's sweet time" girl THAT is exactly how I feel summed up into a sentence. We'll get there in due time 💗 Oh and also #littlebootiesmattertoo don't let anybody tell you differently lol

I highly resonate with how you spoke on transition. It's important to recognize and accept where you could change to become closer to yourself and releasing everything that isn't you anymore. Especially when everyone has an opinion on everything you do or believe in these days. Looking forward to seeing how you evolve because I'm on the same journey too!

See if you can get tested for Adult ADHD. A lot of the things you mentioned I went through and thought were normal. Turns out it was ADHD. I didn't even realize that ADHD was part of the reason I ate so little throughout the day and lost my sense of creative enthusiasm.
