That wooden "box" might actually be a purse. Decoupage wooden purses were popular in the 70s.

Yes, me too. My Father did decoupage woodworking in the late 60's-70's and made a few decoupage purses. I still have one that has owls on it. It's very special to me. He taught me to decoupage for a special Christmas project in high school and I still hang my "Memories of Christmas Past" every year.

Hello Julie ~ I love the Hallmark Christmas Music Book. When our oldest granddaughter was around 1 , Hallmark was GIVING OUT FOR FREE Christmas Music Books, the reason was the covers ( which are hardcover) were placed on the books upside down! My granddaughters loved that book….we sang and sang and sang ! So when my oldest granddaughter has babies, I’m passing it on to her. She loved it so much…”again Grandma “ she would say. Her sister not as much. I don’t decorate with Santa, haven’t in years. I have around 4 - 5 very small snowmen that are meant for Tree Ornaments I place on shelves, etc. Right now all pine, pine, and pine. Next month my Nativity Sets will come out. Hi Julie, I Loved the Pfaltzgraff piece you held with the little red berries on it! OMG I LOVED it!! I think I said that already😉 it matches perfectly with the new Hearth & Hand holiday collection.. (A berry floral arrangement) they just came out with. It’s a spray of long red berry stems in a clear glass vase. It comes in 3 sizes, I loved it so much I bought two sets! So pretty!! I love thrifting. The child in me decorates with Santa, Elves, Gingerbread, Reindeer, and I absolutely love remembering the things Mom put out each year (way back when). I have a Santa candle that she had back in the 50's, and even with a bit of wear, he is way too special!

11:02 is actually a purse. You called it a box. They were a rage in the 1970s. I made several as gifts. My boyfriend's mother gave me one as a high school graduation gift in 1971 except it wasn't home made. She bought it at a major department store. They sell for $30.00 and up now; depending on who made them. I still have two; both signed and neither made by me.

No snowmen, a few Santas. I like winter greens in vintage baskets, candles, old mittens, candy dishes filled with Christmas candy, deer, woodland animals, and my traditional Christmas tree with decades old ornaments.

I would put small gifts in that sleigh. When my boys were little I decorated more with the cutesy stuff like Santa and snowman but my boys are grown now so I'm going with more classic decor More nativity scenes garland holiday pics. And we have a Christmas tree and every room and multiple in several of the rooms. You weren't kidding when you said their prices are high there. They are higher than most salvation army stores. Sad... They received that stuff in donations and I get some thrift stores help out charities and the needy but a lot of people who shop there are needy.

The early American style lamp... absolutely reminiscent of my childhood home (50s-60s), including the wavy lampshade. My mom had a set of lamps with figures as the "stand" part, one boy and one girl, dressed colonial style. I wonder where those went!?!

I decorate primarily with Santa’s. I have one room that is snowmen. When it comes to Christmas decor, I go a little overboard. Christmas brings back so many wonderful childhood memories.

I've never seen a 'giving plate' in all my wanderings. I used to keep random plates in my cupboard when I was married & the kids were young, for baking/giving as you described.---I don't have many Santas, & I do have a few selected Snowmen that make me smile!---One of my sisters gifted me that same throw in a shimmery plum color, but after I washed it, the fringe was so tangled I ended up cutting it all off. Never again do I buy fringed items. ---Those wreaths turned out to look very expensive!

I do decorate with snowmen. They go in my china cabinet ,I have Santa's they go in my husbands office, I also do angels and they go in my antique barrister bookcase that belonged to my mother...I out out a LOT at Christmas..... my dining room has a small alpine tree forest in it

I tend to use more snowmen, greenery, pinecones, etc than Santas as I leave the snowmen things up for winter decor with white lights. When my kids and grandkids were little I had lots more vintage Santa Christmas decorations. Love your channel and you are so talented at decorating and repurposing ❤

Something to keep in mind when thrifting is you can always change the item with paint or découpage like that “box” with the handle. Floral arrangements can be pieced out!

Lol..when I was younger we had a sleigh and my mom would give us little boxes and things to wrap and put in the sleigh as presents..it’s great to keep the tradition going with kids and grandkids

I would put vintage ornaments in the sleigh. Loved it. AND such a good rule when you're thrifting - if there's not a place or a specific use I've learned to pass up things. Someone will find it and be able to use it.

I would add a coconut liner to the wire sleigh and plant some succulents with a cute Christmas ornament. Or u could use it for hand towels in the bathroom. Fill it with pinecones with pine essential oil on them. Put 3 little bottle brush tress. Possibilities are endless!

I prefer decorating with natural things instead of all the characters. My mantel is always a forest of trees. The sleigh would be cute near a hot cocoa bar filled with peppermint or marshmallows.

I like the idea of putting children’s Christmas books in the wire sleigh. I believe the white wire mesh container is for Black Oil Sunflower Seeds for Birds.

I decorate with Santa and snowmen with a few little deer. I stay with red and green decor colours. Your wreaths look great! Our grandkids school sell live wreaths for a fundraiser at Christmas so we support them and get a couple, $25 each which is not too bad. Enjoyed your video as always!

: I saw one of the paper towel holders just recently and it took me a while to figure out what it was. You take the top off, put the roll inside and feed one of the paper towels through the slot in the side. I didn't buy it either

I hardly display Santa’s. Snowmen, yes. I keep them out until February since they represent cold and winter. I also love angels, all year. The brass angel bell, beautiful!! The little sleigh is perfect for bathroom decor. You can put it on the back of the toilet with small hand towels rolled up or travel size items for guests. If you have a larger sink counter you can do the same there as well. I've always had a small bathroom and placed my sleigh on the toilet tank with fun holiday hand towels 👍edit the winter scene plate was stunning! It reminded me of my Papa! That "paper towel thing looks like an Ivy keeper. The dowel in the middle allows the ivy to climb and wind around. If it isnt one it definitely could be used as one 😉

The illustrations. in that Christmas songs book are just beautiful. I am surprised you didn't buy the book for one of your Christmas settings. You use books a lot. I would have bought. the little Santa ceramic bag,I had one and used it for assorted candy canes. Very nice video. I always see so many items,I would have purchased and if I could have said,Julie get that,get this. I would have definitely bought that red lamp with the white coral reefs So you did buy The Christmas Songs book and I also love the Christmas Tales.glad you got them. The illustrations are beautiful. Good advice about shaking the wreath. I bought one at a craft show once, and it was full of moth eggs. I came home from work one day and found moths all over my walls, I could not get rid of them and finally had to call an exterminator.

Hi Julie! I think that little sleigh would make a great centerpiece or sitting on a shelf. You could put those round ornaments in it with little Christmas sprigs sticking out of the arrangement. Maybe with a little red bow on the side. I've given up on putting electric star toppers on our tree. The last time I put one on the tree it started smoking 😳. I sure didn't want a flaming star and then flaming tree for Christmas decor,lol. So I've got a nice glittery topper with a big velvet bow on the tree. You have a great weekend and we'll see ya soon. I think I’ve had decorate with every Christmas theme. Santa Claus is my favorite. I used a few Santa Claus from different cultures and skin tones. I love to decorate with a Texas theme last few Christmas. I believe that my favorite Theme. I even had my friend make me a Cactus 🌵 Christmas tree. I might try some of your Christmas ideas this year. I have some snowmen..1 stuffed because it reminds me of my Great Grandson . I have a set of blond angels that I've had for 29 yrs. because they look like my oldest grandson. I bought a wooden red & green sleigh today for $1.50 and am going to put ornaments or pine cones or both in it. The lamp was front 60's.. alot of homes were furnished " Early American" style and had lamps and shades like that. My Mom did.

Hi Julie, another great trip! I would have definitely grabbed the red tapers. I also liked the cabinet at 1:12, the berry garland, the nutcracker, the dish at 4:45 and the mini vases. Reindeer, vintage and brass, plus trees are my favorites. I put out a few snowmen in January only. I use a lot of green and red and this year I am replacing my old garland with new greenery. I use a lot of my collections like milk glass and baskets too. I am trying to have less that is Christmas only, and use other collections.

The winter seen plate was so pretty and the angle I like too .I'm taking down alot of my fall and started on Christmas decor. but it has been overwhelming today I just stopped got to get focus lol. Yes the blanket is pretty. Yes the wreaths look good . Don't pulling out Christmas just makes a mess ,I had to tidy up some and start back a little tomorrow . Looking forward to your next video . Hello Julie, I love n collect snowmen..I'm very picky about the ones I buy, they cannot look like scary clowns tho..lol..our home will turn into a winter wonderland full of snowmen, Christmas trees, a santa or two, and lots of greenery n garlands..my husband and I, have been married going on 38 years now, and he buys me snowmen all thru out the year..so we have a huge collection of snowmen..well over a 1000 or more..lol..but we do rotate them out every year, and use different ones out of our collection every year..we dont crowd it up n make it ugly...lol..I have Christmas trees in every room of our home..whether large or small..love your videos, tfs..

We made a wreath last year with sheet music ....we went to the thrift store and got and old spiral songbook with cream colored background and tore it apart and curled the pages into cones...my 11 and 15 yr old had a good time creating it and looking for the perfect center ...also from the thrift store...look it up on YT ...theres a video on it ..its fun! Takes awhile
