​​@carnuatus They are making their children work basically 24/7, exposing them on the internet in front of possible creeps, ruining fun moments having to always act perfect, exposing their most private and embarrassing moments to the world, etc etc etc. It's definitely a form of abuse, taking advantage of and exploiting their child, using them for money- it's emotional abuse mainly, but some slip into physical abuse territory as well. It can be financial abuse as well, making them have to work as children if they want anything- including food. We have no idea everyones situations, and lots of these people should NOT be parents.

I thought videos with kids in were de-monetised? If not they should be. Social media sites could also create rules saying children aren't allowed to be used in brand deals/adverts or else the video will be taken down which might at least reduce the number of people exploiting their kids, especially if the brand is unhappy about the video being taken down and sues/refuses to pay and stuff. Just make it very difficult for them to make money and hopefully they'll stop exploiting their own children.

I think it really depends on what's happening in the vlog like the parents should be able to have a vlog channel but it shouldn't revolve around their kids and the kids personal lives

It shouldn’t be banned, but we need child labor laws for family vlogging like the laws in film/tv

I think once the financial incentive is removed the type of parents who do it will essentially disappear. It’s one thing to ban filming and posting your child as there are many arguments as to why that could be justified - but if you just say you’ve gotta pay them significantly there’s no argument as to why you shouldn’t. I think it’s genuinely a clever law to prevent this type of exploitation. Hit ‘em where it hurts - the wallet.
