I didn't believe this pinned comment but after seeing for myself that you said you struggled with Opiate abuse which eventually lead you to heroin breaks my heart. You were such a role model for me growing up and I hate to see whats its done to you.

Hey Giz, I've been subscribed since December 2013 when I was 14 and I cannot thank you enough for your videos over the past 10 years. Your introduction of lucid dreaming at a difficult and pivotal time for me changed the way I think about and interact with the world. I've dealt with my fair share of crippling mental health and if it hadn't been for the worldview your videos had given me at that age, I don't know if I would have come away from it as well as I did. I'm now 23 working as a Paramedic, perusing an education in research neuroscience because of your videos. It's always a pleasure to see you on my youtube feed again, but please don't feel any guilt around not uploading. Hey Giz, I've been watching you since I was 14 and trying to use lucid dreaming as a little escape at the end of the day, a way to feel a little bit more free in a life I felt I wasnt in charge of. And your videos helped me a lot, I had my first ever lucid dream because of some tips I had learned from you. Anyway, I'm 21 with a kid on the way now and I just wanted to say, no matter how long of a break you take, there will be people like me who remember you and what you've done for this community that will gladly accept you back with open arms. Your mental health is far more important than forcing yourself to make content, and I'm glad you've realized that and decided to put yourself first. Don't stress about regular uploads, I know we'll be here to watch when you're ready to produce content. I know this is a bit of a long comment, if you happen to read it, just wanted to say, keep putting yourself first and congratulations on your engagement to the woman, you guys have always been great together. (at least from what I've gathered in your videos)

Mental health and financial/family stability always comes first. Good on you for taking your mental health seriously and keeping an eye on your self. I found your lucid dreaming content 3-4 years ago and binged all your old videos. I haven't kept up with you recently, but this video popped up on my main page. Good to see you. I am so thankful and so glad that you did not delete your channel! Even if you decide to quit KZbin, please don't ever do that! The content that you have created is so valuable for people trying to learn to lucid dream! And that is a skill that can help people with mental illness! And I'm not joking! I struggled with nightmare disorder where I had nightmares so consistently that I was afraid to go to sleep! Learning to lucid dream was the way that I got out of that cycle of nightmares and insomnia! And you were my most valuable resource in learning how to do that! You saved my mental health! Please understand the value that your videos hold and don't ever delete them! They are a treasure to this world! The struggles you described are probably more common than you think, especially in the world of content creation. Imo it's good that you kept the channels in the end. The content you produced is still valid for many people and if people can't cope with the fact that you're not on it full time anymore it's on them, not on you (ok it's easier said than done I know, but it's still true). You owe nothing to anyone.

That cyclical nature of mental health... It sounds very similiar to bipolar. I know because I have close family affected by it, and the signs obvious when the lows and highs come. It only took a couple GP to properly diagnose and medicate them. Now they're doing better than ever.
