Congratulations on the career move 🎉 your message is very relatable. Personally, I am a huge advocate for a healthy work/life balance. I remember overworking myself at one point it was almost toxic. Hope you achieve that with your new job. We look forward to hearing about the journey!

It's amazing how much work actually goes into youtube /content creation. It's one of those things you don't really appreciate before you start doing it, then you know, first then you really understand. Hope you had a good night's sleep after the recording/editing session.

You know you gave a lot of good advice for content creation and it's always nice to go back through them every once in awhile. I think it makes sense to scale back if you're really not enjoying it as much as you once were. Good to know it's not a complete shut off though.

I relate heavily to how you were feeling about not making a video you thought was really cool in a long time. I had a channel that I knew a lot about but I personally didn’t like the space. That’s why I’m making videos that I like and enjoy now with no strict rules on timeline, as I continue making these videos and figuring out the process better I may put some timelines on it but for now I’m making videos I enjoy and conforming them to work well on KZbin via tags thumbnail title and pacing

I have a media background studied for 4 years, and I just had to tap out this year, At the start of the year. I was on a shoot with friends and we got some bad weather, in this wood land we where shooting in. The rain was pissing down on us for half the day. I was stressed as my mother became ill at the time and I just looked around at some point during the day and asked myself "do I really want to do this anymore," and Due to C19, I have lost two years of portfolio development which is needed for media work. If I was hell-bent on working in media I would need two more years, and that is something I am not willing to do. I'm getting older now, so I would like some stability in my life. you need to remember "trying is not failing, failing is not trying"

I’m a new streamer who sort of stumbled across your channel a few months ago. All of your content has been both helpful and encouraging to me as a new streamer and I just wanted to say that this video has been both of those things to me. I, too, have started my twitch channel with the mindset of just having fun doing what I love to do, and I don’t ever want it to be about the money or renown while the things in my life that are important end up on the back burner. Thanks, man! Keep doing what you love!

You made the best decision. I'm in your shoes TwoShoes! Haha! But seriously: working a full time job, streaming 3-4 times a week, trying to make good content on other platforms - quite difficult. You have been an inspiration to me and countless others and that's not going to end just because you're not "full time". The energy and life you bring to your content is a standard I still strive for (even when you think it's shite, it's not). I think this transition will make those times you do go live even more special. The friendships, relationships and connections you've created on your journey are invaluable. Thank you for being open and honest. See you next stream!

3:52 - feel you brother; when I ran my own agency in South Africa, all those feelings, of not minding to stay up and all that reward, it's awesome! But, like you say; it get's to this point, where you're like: wait, that's the forth energy drink today haha It's not that this isn't for everyone, I believe you're epic at this; an inspiration to a lot of people; but, at the same time, there's perks of having a job too. Keep rocking brother; you're working in a fulfilling space; where you can make videos that you want to make, as well as now, worrying less about keeping a roof over your head. Here for you pal, next Guinness is on me! Next 4 actually!

I’m excited for your new adventure and still look forward to lurking in your streams when you do go live on Twitch! Thank you for being very honest with your viewers, Dan. I always loved your videos and I have learnt so much about streaming from your videos. You have to do what seems more important for your personal and professional growth and the community understands that. You can even take some time off if your situation allows and then create content when the time is right. KZbin, twitch are not going anywhere. And, we, the community, for sure isnt going anywhere. Best of luck with the new job! We support you!

This channel and your streams have been a constant source of advice, kindness, and entertainment for me for the last year and a half. I hope that you’re able to strike a good balance between the DayJob™️ and continuing with content. Frankly, I’m excited to see what you can get up to when you are able to give yourself more time on projects and I think there’s a lot of us late-20’s folks that would love your perspective on working full time while still maintaining good content output.
