I came to the same conclusion as you did for teaching chemistry online. I use several different OBS scenes to feed to Zoom which allow me to teach with a lightboard or using annotation software to write directly onto pdf’s. I have tremendous versatility doing things using OBS. Another advantage I’ve found is that the quality of recording I can get via OBS if far superior to that obtained using the Zoom recording function.

Absolutely. I use OBS not only for its virtual camera, but to create all the high-quality tutorials. I also use OBS-NDI add-on to route audio to ZOOM or other meeting platforms. This gives me the flexibility to apply audio filters such as compressors, noise gates etc.

I wish you'd do a how-to video on pausing the background video while still allowing the camera to continue recording in OBS... allowing commentary and reaction to what is on the screen.

Once you start using these tools, you will never think of using the 'Share Screen' option in ZOOM.

I love the share as PowerPoint option. Only issue I faced was that I couldn't get a grid view of my viewers.

That is a great idea and ZOOM should implement it. It would allow you to focus on the participants even more instead of watching the top strip only. But based on how they have implemented the solution, I see it as a challenge since you need to control the PPT, plus manage the camera view, and you can't do that in grid view.

@@TechforToastmasters yes that's true. These are some suggestions Zoom can use if they like to give options to the user.

Sorry to say, this was confusing. You didn't explain how you got your original webcam in front of the Powerpoint display and if you started off using zoom and how to set it up to show how you got your original result. :-( When I loaded PP and shared, it lost the camera view and only showed the display, so I don't know how you had the PP plus the camera view?

I have a doubt. Everytime someone shares a image my zoom gets disconnected. Can you please help.
