The manga is better than this animation series.. I highly recommend to read it. The artwork is fantastic. I find it highly disrespectful that Netflix doesn't mention that this is simply an adaptation of the manga. The manga has been ongoing for 10 years now by two wonderful creators, Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi.

This is an on going manga, and yes, he did become a giant later on. The story is not a ultraman reboot, its a continuation, his the son of the orginal giant ultraman.
