Jokic IQ is the highest in the NBA, he always do the best for the team, whatever it means, so not only he is the best player in any given match, but all his teammates get to play better because of him. And there still are lots of people that could not see how good he is because he is not super athetic, so ridiculous. They have air gordon for that. And about bones hyland, everything comes on how long will take him to get the experience he is needs... I bet on him.

for sure. What's amazing to me typically teams with a single top tier talent who is far and away the reason behind the teams offensive success is usually either an unstoppable scoring threat, or highly skilled at facilitating the offense to make plays for others. Sure many players who are great scorers are also great passers, and many all-time assist leaders have scored their fair share of baskets. Jokic may be the first guy I've ever seen who somehow manages to both score effortlessly and consistently facilitate plays that before successful execution didn't even look possible. It's difficult to say which one of those traits he's better at. It must seem so detrimental to lose his scoring prowess and his insane playmaking abilities during his brief periods of rest.

@Dragica Andrejevic this is a big year for MPJ. If he doesn’t perform the way we think he should this year. I would think the Nuggets will try to get some players out of him. MPJ has a lot of potential but maybe Denver isn’t the best place for him.

I think Jokic is easily once again the MVP and I’m all for it, I’m glad that he can prove to be such a good passer, not a 7-8 assist guy but a 9-10 assist guy because we all know he is, it’s just the last few seasons his teammates weren’t as good imo, if he passed to someone for a 3 point shot it wouldn’t go in as much as it does now Ontop of all this, while his ppg doesn’t stand out as much as say Luka, it’s pretty clear if he took as many free throws and had as high a usage rate as Luka, he would probably average 30 points, 15 rebounds, 14 assists, 4 steals per game Not like anyone doubted he would, but he still definitely deserves the biggest contract in nba history, it’s also the second biggest ever in yearly salary behind only Steph Curry (Steph Curry getting 53.75million on average a year while Jokic makes 52.8 million on average), but I’d personally say Jokic has a better contract simply because I’d rather get 0.95million less a year to get paid the insane salary for an extra year Although I love watching Denver when Jokic is off, if you watch the games it’s pretty clear when Jokic is off the team is just kinda bad, they blow so many leads and aren’t even really that entertaining, I’d much rather watch the rockets then a Denver team without Jokic on the floor, and I actually think it’s pretty clear Denver would be a lottery team or at least among the worst in the league without Jokic even this season, he basically brings a lottery team to the 1 seed… if that’s not value to a team and the most valuable thing possible I really really don’t know what is, even the other top teams (Pelicans, Celtics, Bucks) are still pretty good teams without their stars, but the nuggets are a very different case, again if that’s not being the most valuable player I don’t know what value even is anymore, is it a fan vote? Luka gets so much praise for being able to carry a team who are better without Luka then the nuggets are without Jokic and he carries them to at the very most the 5th seed, now that Jokic has got his team to the 1 seed, I simply cannot see how people can put Luka for carrying his team, or anyonelse who are doing worse on a much much better team above Jokic. The Celtics are the only team ahead of Denver right now in the standings (with Brooklyn tied), and they have three great defenders outside of their two all stars one being an MVP calibur player, and they have the defensive player of the year, but still lost to Denver. Brooklyn has two superstars so even without KD they are still able to compete for a playoff spot, which is why I think even though the nets are doing so well, it still to me isn’t enough to put KD over Jokic, as Kyrie is also doing so much for the nets sometimes even more then KD, and his individual accomplishments/ value the team isn’t nearly as much as Jokic, like him and Kyrie together got the nets (who would also be a lottery team without their stars, but still a playoff team without their MVP candidate) to the same record as the nuggets, but still with two stars not one.

Denver's biggest weakness is Porter. You can't be an elite championship contending team with one-dimensional players on the floor. Yes, he can score, but his overall game is weak. If he gets the ball on offense, he's shooting, it's not being moved around. He doesn't move well without the ball. Just sitting at the 3 pt line isn't moving. Don't get me started on his defense. As another comment said, he hasn't broken a sweat defensively his entire career. 6'10, with significant length, and he won't challenge shooters. He's lazy.
@VivaRevolucionDGS
@VivaRevolucionDGS Жыл бұрын
@Ivan R. 100% agree. Can't have one-dimensional players on the floor with the unicorn talent of Jokic. Ultimately, MPJ is a liability. Come playoff time Malone can't afford to have him on the floor late in games due to his horrendous defense.

I am FIRMLY of the belief that Luka and Joker are SIGNIFICANTLY ahead of the rest of the pack in the MVP race. Like Tatum is playing great, but he has stars surrounding him while Luka and Jokic are carrying teams that are likely not even playoff teams without them. Luka's heroics are arguably more impressive, but Jokers insane effectiveness and impact on winning is likely to beat out the insane stat lines of Luka.

I like how Jokic plays a team game, his first priority is getting the score, no matter who makes it. Contrast that with someone like Luka who wants to make every point himself, and plays more of the 'star' (ball-hog). The team strategy will always be best. One must first learn to set ego aside, not a easy task.
@VinceLyle2161
@VinceLyle2161 Жыл бұрын
This is the comment. Jokic makes Aaron Gordon look a lot like James Worthy. He makes KCP look like Michael Cooper. He makes Jamal Murray look like Jamaal Wilkes. I just chose 80's Lakers, but pick your historical super team. The thing is, you don't cast Jokic in the role of Kareem, you cast him in the role of Magic Johnson with those guys. In all the highlights I've watched, he looks great everywhere (low post, mid-range, even downtown), but he seems focused on making everyone around him look like all-stars, just for being in the right place at the right time. He must tell them always expect me to pass to you if you're open. It's an excellent motivation to move without the ball. Keep moving, find a spot where there's an inch of daylight and the ball comes. Turn and shoot (or dunk, or just don't screw up a lay-in). If you think of basketball as a team sport, Jokic is a joy to watch. He's not a joy to watch if you want flashy or electrifying. But the grace he lacks in his body comes out with the passes he makes and the easy baskets they create. It also comes out in the way he fools people. His best assists are classic misdirection, leaving defenders flat-footed. I think that's where a lot of the hate comes from; embarrassment. It's fine to break ankles with a wicked crossover, but make a guy look like a fool even though he was playing good defense, and the critics come out of the woodwork. And a lot of those passes are ballsy. They look risky for everyone else, but he tosses them with utter confidence. The best thing about him is he probably doesn't care that much about an individual award like the MVP. I think he just wants to keep playing basketball as much as he can, which means making it to the playoffs and winning series. So why not win the title? He's good for the league. Awards or not, I'm happy to watch him for the next ten years.

I think the missing piece in the nuggets is not a backup C, Zeke and deandre are serviceable, but an actual playmaker off the bench is definitely the move to make. Bones hyland either gets hot and wins us the game, giving jokic time to rest, or he makes no shots and turns the ball over more than he makes plays. With everyone healthy, a bench unit of hyland, brown, cancar, zeke and jordan are decent but a vet that can make plays and keep the ball running without turning the ball over can help with bones' inconsistencies

But ppl gotta realise that even if they come out the west they gotta trump a 7 game playoff series, creaming over 1 win in a 1-1 series isnt the be all end all. For the nuggs to win it all they gotta lock tf in and pray that the team which comes outta the east has a underwhelming performance bcs the Bucks, Celtics, and the Nets have either been to the finals recently, or have leaders who have finals experience, which, plays a massive part in crunch time.

Actually the Nuggets needs backup big instead of PG because you forgot Bruce Brown, he's your backup PG.

It’s still not, regular season doesn’t mean anything and they aren’t good on defense. Jokic will get abused by any team with a dominant perimeter scorer

Win over the Celtics don't mean anything after losing to the Timberwolves who just lost six games in a row plus under man and i don't want to hear excuses it was a back to back , nuggets playing 5 games in seven days ! Great teams over comes adversity and mentally tough.

I'm not taking anything Drew Hanlen says seriously if it's not something about basketball skill in a vacuum. Dude is an ultra homer to the players he trains and needs to put down other players to be that for some reason, so weird.
