The previous video brought up a lot of points I agreed with, just not what was personally mentioned about me, and it would have been better if DS talked to be personally before. That is nearly in every gaming community, but if we are talking about the racing video gaming communitiesthen it's a tie between Forza and Need for Speed as being some of the most shittiest and childish racing video game communities that I have ever encounter for the past decade. Say any harsh but fair criticism in any blackbox era of NFS games to a bunch of fans with valid points and your ass is getting a mafia-hit on you. Same goes with nearly any Forza games especially the new ones that even an ounce of criticism hit these rapid-fans ears, you will get nuked to oblivion with all sorts of "1-up's" and threats it's not even funny. At this point just play whatever the fuck you like in general and enjoy it. At the end no one in 7 years will remember your comment and give you a medal at your front door or a handgun pointed at your chest. Too much of a headache to be seriously pissy all the time for no real world gain!

The obsession with graphics is a monster of the AAA industry's making, and considering that Horizon 5 has set the visual standards so ridiculously high for open world driving games and that gamers in turn have been primed to expect that level of fidelity as standard, it makes sense that anything short of that would be considered awful visually (not saying that it's right that this is how things are, just that it makes sense considering context). I also thought it looked nice, personally.

@@dankswank9088 , honestly, if one wants to make a good car game, then I have the perfect idea for one...build on the bones of Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2, actually have realistic handling vehicles, like rFactor 1 and 2 or iRacing quality good, and have realistic sounds for engines and the like, and then, shock, use Google Maps to make real life races from all over the world. Now if Microsoft Flight Simulator can literally let you fly all over the world with super accurate maps, then it is honestly no excuse that a video game cannot do likewise, and Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2 literally had maps of places that 597 square miles for Oahu, plus another like 30 or 40 square miles for the hidden island, and Ibiza is 618 square miles and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall had a map that was like around 81,040 square miles, and we are talking about games that, in the last three cases, were around in the 2000s and Microsoft Flight Simulator X has proven that a modern system can indeed have a map that is bigger than all three of those games combined, and they have literally mapped out the entire real life planet Earth for you to fly in that game, though, in comparison to Elite: Dangerous, it is a small fry. Now if that is indeed the case, then there is no excuse for a racing video game to not have a map that is that big.

Nacon better get their shit together because it's unacceptable behavior for a company to go after you like this, this shit isn't right man. All your criticism and complaints to TD: SC is valid and does have a worrying history about the development and how awfully long it took to finally see the underwhelming gameplay with a bleak future of just being "Online only" which time-and-time tells again those services never last long compared to a local copy of a game for that system that can be played at anytime at any year with no major setbacks. The only "New" console I have is a Switch Lite back in 2019 on it's launch day, and the newest playable hardware I have is an upgraded entry level laptop with a 3050 GPU inside of it which to me it's get's the job done for me because I don't play much of any new AAA releases anymore and I am very selective to what I like now. Lot's of it is indie games so there is not really a point to get a laptop/PC that is well over $1,500 that doesn't fit my needs all that much. Long tangent aside, After I look all the years that Solar Crown did up to this point is just plain uninteresting and not even worth $40 USD if it's priced that at launch. All the fans and hype lead up to this completely killed my interest and the way how "AAA" gaming works now a days, Ill gladly stick to playing GT6 on my PS3 or NFS: Heat on my PC. Almost everything around Test Drive: Solar Crown is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off at any moment and I just want to stay the fuck away from that. It save me tons of money at the end of the day so hey, it's doing at least one positive thing right.

Just bought GT7 a a few days ago after years of not playing console or PC games. GT4 was my last console game and GTA V was my last PC game. My Internet provider was having difficulties when I got the game. I received a rude awakening when I couldn't access most of the game except for arcade races on a few tracks with a few cars. A game for which I paid full price. Having enjoyed TDU and TDU2, if Solar Crown has online DRM I'll pass...

I hope they expand on the car control features so you can have turn signals automatically light up on hard turns or hazards in crashes, windows going up at high speed, it’s so immersive that I’d play the game for just that. I haven’t seen it in any other games aside from Nfs in the 90s. Let’s pray to the elder gods above that the actual game will turn out ok.

The marketing has been a real disaster so far. But I haven't given up hope that TDUSC will be good. The problem with the gameplay reveal was that you hardly saw any hint of the good old TDU DNA (only a little if you look closely) that we expect from the game. Why so many people are upset about the graphics is beyond me. Even though it might not be as visually impressive as Forza Horizon, I'd 100x rather make sacrifices on graphics than gameplay.

Great video. I took this game off my wish list as soon as I saw influencers at the forefront of the gameplay trailer. The difference is that you can go offline in the older games if I remember correctly. Also it would definitely fucking suck if they put microtransactions in this game. They can just charge us for some of the DLC if need be and just let us keep it forever if we do. You have quite a pessimistic take but raise some fair concerns. I hope KT and Nacon take these seriously, and also Nacon needs to get more funding for this game and pay well for the talent, hire a marketing team that know what they're doing. It will definitely pay off as in my opinion the map and overall plan for the game is looking decent. It's the biggest game Nacon is gonna release in a while and if they don't realize that then not sure what they're doing. That being said I think the recent trailer they released shows that they're listening to feedback and I hope that they address some concerns.

I feel the issue is with execution; if Solar Crown is able to be installed and played without an internet connection and mmo elements are optional (like in the original TDU), it would be fantastic. However, if they decide to use the mmo label as an excuse for drm (like ubisoft did with The Crew), it would be detremental to the entire experience.

I got a PS5 and I only use that for games, so I jumped on The Crew Motorfest for now. I will be getting TDU:SC *_when_* it releases, but I will believe the release when it actually has released. Too many games are pushed back or simply released too early these days, so I do what I can to just keep my expectations low. Hopefully Motorfest will bridge the gap more than well enough.

This is all a lie. The game is not dead. There’s been a lot of information and gameplay since then. Yesterday we got to see a stop start engine and it’s impressive. Huge improvements from the demo showcase. And more added info on the dynamic camera since the cruising demo only used a static camera in the Alfa Romeo demo. They’ve listened to the community so the game is far from dead.

Amazing video! It is really a shame that companies that make games are so fixated on making money that they fail to deliver us (the enthusiasts) what we really want. It's also so sad that these gaming channels we watch on youtube push these games so much and give such biased opinions because they're getting paid to it really makes it difficult to find real information about what the game is going to be like which is why I have liked this video because you certainly are not doing that. One major example of this is The Crew Motorfest. Ubisoft are known for making games that just flop over and over because instead of listening to their audience they make decisions based on what they think is trending at that time because they think that is what sells, rather than focusing on making a good game that's different from the rest and pushing the boundaries. Motorfest is in every way an example of that. We have seen playlists and festivals in Forza Horizon since 2012 and Ubisoft make it seem like they're reinventing the wheel. Car gaming enthusiasts have been begging Forza for years to make the next Horizon location in Japan and Ubisoft could have really capitalised on that by beating Forza to it, but instead Ubisoft made a copy of Horizon 5 that looks, sounds and plays exactly the same (apart from the physics) because that is what's tending at the moment, rather than looking outside of the trends and making something that the audience actually wants. Such a shame and that this is what games are coming to

I dont understand how people screw up sequels when the first game lays out what to do for you. Especially true for a game like TDU (racing genres). NO REASON to be removing features; racing game features should never be taken away, just added to. TDU isnt even that hard to recreate with the game engines these days; its a weird choice like how no one wants to use Japan as a car racing setting. Its the weirdest thing.

I've left a very respectful comment at KTracing. I do not buy games that have microtransactions for anything other than unnecessary cosmetics. I'm fine with car packs or expansions as long as they aren't required for it to be a complete game. My one disagreement with the video is that I won't be disappointed if they remove houses.. in particular since it's in Hong Kong where any place with above 30 square meters is a luxury apartment and private garages cost more than a Koenigsegg. I want the racing and the exploration of a massive gorgeous world.

And the past videos have been constructive, as I highlighted what is currently wrong with certain aspects of the game, what the game is missing, and how KT can improve it (from what is publically known, but I have vouched about many things behind the scenes such as houses, garages, and a lot more of what the community has BEEN askign for). Why not looking at TDU:SC official Discord server ? Then, you said that TCM was the successor of TDU2 which I strongly disagree. It's just that some devs went to another studio being happy to say that they contributed to TDU2's development, while doing the same mistakes in TC: arcade physics, jumps with x100 heavier cars than it should be, graphics that looks okay but empty for the most and not extremely good with the available budget they have with Ubisoft,... And it looks like you have trouble when you read "paid content" where, in another video somebody said that there won't be any season pass 🤷‍♂️ To end this, you said that the TDU Connect was the promotion of crashes ?? There is also Alain Jarniou that you probably forgot about. Putting a "new" game that fast for TCM is just thanks to Ubi and their thousands of employees, compared to KT with less than 200, where they take their time. Also, you seem to forget that Ubi and Ivory already had the basis with TC2, but KT is starting from scratch, zero. TCM also has a discord server only because KT and Nacon have done one with TDU:SC. I'm confused. I dislike microtransactions and always online games. That being said, tdu 2 had plenty of microtransactions and was an always online game. While dislikable, it is not unexpected at all that this game is that way too, it's not new to the franchise. Again, I would rather not have that but it was always there. I hope they rectify it but if they mantained those in a previous entry 20 years ago, I doubt a new game in the age of live service will change this be it a new owner for the franchise or not.

TDU 1 and 2 was NOT always online. If you didn't have an online connection, you could still play the game without any problems. You just couldn't access the multiplayer.

@@benn8793 Idk about tdu 1 but unlimited did not track progress if offline. I couldn't do races offline, or buy things, or basically anything. I could just drive around without getting the money and that was only if I got into the game with internet. The servers were necessary. In fact as far as I'm aware you can't play it anymore unless you create a fake server for it to communicate with. The "offline" mode was not offline was just not random players in your world and just ai cars.

I love TDU 1 and 2 mainly because you have to buy houses to store your cars and had to drive all over the place to find the so many houses and car dealerships. The only real complaint I had for the first 2 games was the lack of car customization that you got to see in midnight club or NFS

And now it's unveiled to have no houses, cops, solo campaign or even the most basic of AI challenges at launch all while being online only thus having an expiration date of playability. Just so disappointing and honestly stupid. PvP only shrinks the potential player base as nobody is going to play the game purely for the fact it has PvP and no additional solo play on top, whereas a huge amount of the community will not want to play if there is no solo/AI play as seen through comments on this. It's so stupid not to offer both to accommodate to the two huge groups of players. It just doesn't make sense and is clear whoever designed this has no idea how a tdu game should be played. I’m probably the biggest TDU 1 fan in the world. I had over 1500 hours in it. I think it is the best driving game of all time. (With the hardcore mode ofc) Anyway, I was very underwhelmed with the first “gameplay reveal” Nacon connect event thing.. However, THEN they released the cruiser gameplay trailer, and it put my mind to ease. This new trailer shows what TDU is all about, and I’m so excited. Apart from GTA6, TDUsc is my most anticipated game of the decade.

Biggest issue game devs face now is the depth.. the expectation and well being ahead of anything else.. games take years.. years to put a bass in.. by that time console has moved on.. why there is still zero zero true next gen games on series x. Running unreal 5. By time there is next console be along... without that base platform like forza horizon of shitty nfs. This is an impossible task to do great.. never mind well. I just cant understand. The recipe for a good racing game is that easy. -No empty Open World -Dealers to buy Cars -Different Houses for a nice homefeeling -different Locations Tdu 1 + 2 were so simple, they just had to update them to a new game. Take Hawaii an Ibiza, add another island to it. Boom, perfect. I personally dont like leftlane driving in videogames, in FH4 it was already annoiying. Now Hong Kong… a big City. I really thought they going to add ibiza and hawaii again and just give us players more space with a third location. Nacoon had the chance after the bad FH5 and completely threw it away.

Honestly, none of these issues bother me or have me THAT worried about the game. The only thing I disagree with is when you claimed that the developers were specifically targeting vulnerable people, to say that the developers are targeting vulnerable people doesn't feel like criticism, it feels like an attack towards the development team itself. Casino games are games, they are meant to be thrill inducing, they are meant to be fun. There will no doubt be many warnings about gambling or how to get help either on the game's disc case, within the game, or within one of the game's scripts, I do believe this has to be done by law. I've played gambling games both in real life and on video games for years now and I've never become addicted, if somebody becomes addicted, that's on them. 🤷🏻🤷🏻 You don't blame alcohol or cigarette companies when an alcoholic or a smoker gets cancer, do you.

I never said that the devs were personally responsible for gambling mechanics; that's an executive decision, one where the devs have little choice but to comply. If I felt that the devs were monsters pushing predatory pricing models, I wouldn't have advocated for improving their working conditions at the end of the video.
