As a Christian, I must admit this view of our creation is very bizarre to me. Over and over again, I have been told God needs nothing, he doesn't need us, but he created us for...reasons. I am not a mere dabbler in Christianity, but I have never been given a proper motivation for why God did what he did in Genesis. I admit the Rabbi's explanation does make sense, but it seems there is no place for it in any version of Christianity I have yet discovered. Though it would be very interesting to bounce such ideas off of people who are far more educated and fluent in Christian ways than me. (Edited for typos.)
@613YYКүн бұрын
Did you know that we do not follow the teachings of your religion? Nor will we ever. Whether you (and others) like or believe it ir not you have been taught a lot of things are inaccurate that can't be reconciled with the truth. Torah is truth. G-d's truth. There is no other truth. Truth doesn't have versions or perceptions. It is absolute. These 'ideas' as you call them are from thousands of yesrs ago. Nothing new to 'bounce' and see if they "work" for people. That would not be the truth.

Our Creator is teaching us to love, Him and others. Our untrained mind wants our ways, we don't know that connection with God and His wisdom will give us a smile and happiness without anger or jealousy. He changes our heart.
@613YYКүн бұрын
No. Not quite true. We are connected to G-d. That connection is strong. Our soul wants that connection Love is not the goal. Serving G-d is. That means bringing more light into the world and redeeming darkness with light. It means helping our fellow human being not only the obviously needy ones. For Jews it means doing as many if our 613 mitzvahs as possible. For non Jews it means keeping the 7 Noahide Laws with all their intricacies. It means making this world a better place for G-d.

The command to wear fringes, and bind scriptures on our hand, etc. is a sign to us, God and man that we belong to the God of Israel and the whole earth. People need to know someone believes in God. It draws others to ask questions so they would know our Creator and be saved from a lifetime of torments.
@613YYКүн бұрын
No tzitzit and tefillin are for male Jews post Bar Mitzvah, not for everyone. Whatever we go through in this world has a G-dly purpose. That is good news we all can appreciate. We also don't get 'saved'. That is a non Judaic, non Torah, non G-dly concept. Some things may help protect us. Different idea altogether. Part of that protection is knowing that G-d gives each of us the strength and courage to continue on to fulfill our individual, unique mission for Him, that He needs each of us to do.

You may enjoy being needy. We do not. If G-d didn't need us why did He create us? To send our souls out of the bliss of heaven to be embodied on this earth, to endure challenges, to be sent back to heaven? G-d doesn't need to be needed. He wants to be wanted. In a relationship. An intimate one with us.

I have found all of what the Rabbi says to be very true and I found it before I ever heard about this Rabbi ! I found it when my wife of 62 yrs went to Heaven a yr ago and I was even wondering if I should wash and clean the 38 bullet first AND STARTED laughing at myself thinking our dumb I was about to die and thought the bullet ought to be clean , WHY ? God said , wait , I want you to do something for me ,first ! I read Ezekiel long ago and liked the part about the Bronze UFO 'S GOD USED TO BRING A GROUP OF PEOPLE THERE ! So, not being shy anymore , I asked God to come get me in one of those vehicles and bring my wife with you and members of her family if you like ! I'm not crazy yet , but this is the way it happen that kelp me alive to go on. So, I sorta pretend AND PRAY TO HIM , to help me say and comment things to help Israel , I guess because it was the one thing that helped me as a very depressed poor nobody when I read a small NTB a kind old lady gave me at 12 yrs old . But, before that , I knew and felt God even with the hell going on in my family then . Funny ,isn't it ?

As a Muslim I couldn’t disagree more. The creation of the heveans and earth is far greater a creation than us humans. We have free will, we can do good or we can do bad and that cover only benefits us. If you do a good mitzvah you do it because it benefits you. If you don’t use your computer on Shabbat it doesn’t change god’s majesty 1 iota, but it helps you repair your relationship with him.

What if its to find out what it means to be alone. If I try to imagine from the creators point of view the beginning seems like the ultimate existential crisis. Why does Gd exist? What is the purpose or meaning of existing all alone in an apparent void of nothing? This fits the Gd needs us narrative. Maybe just maybe there is an answer elusive to even Gd. The lack of the answer gives rise to creation in his image.

the video attempts to reframe serving God in a more accessible way but does so through flawed logic, weak analogies, misinterpretations of religious concepts, and problematic implications. while promoting good deeds and acts of kindness is positive, equating them directly with serving God and downplaying the importance of religious beliefs and practices is a significant departure from traditional religious understandings.

What Is in the Hebrew scriptures. Isaiah 52:2 Dust being a metaphor for flesh, serpents food. Circiumsize your heart ,Deuteronomy 10:12-17 and Deuteronomy 30:6 a future event, with no flesh identification, ethnicity falls away. . Isaiah 9:6- 7 Verse 7 indicates it is a future event, The government upon the sons shoulders being the laws of heaven as in the fathers laws himself. So the question is if you dont follow the laws in theTorah, explained by the Tanakh, the question is what do you follow. What is this thing called Judaism?
