I enjoyed your freezer meals -- a tip for potatoes prior to freezing: if you par boil/blanch for a few minutes, this will prevent them from turning black. Thanks for sharing!

yes anytime using potatoes always blanch potatoes just like when you dehydrate potatoes it will turn black when done

Hi Jennifer, been trying to find the best way to cook rice in the instant pot! What is the ratio and how much time do you cook it for? I'd appreciate any info you could give me! Thank you!

I've been using the same directions as on the bag of rice I'm using and then push the rice button. It turns out pretty sticky, which some in the family actually prefer. I know in one of my videos in December I think someone left a comment about the ratio they use in the instant pot. You'd have to go back through to find the comment because I can't remember.

Yes, it is Bach. Called "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". My mom sang it with the Decatur Mother Singers when I was young and we lived there a few months. I've loved it forever. Never heard it played on so many different instruments in one recording. It's wonderful

We are always entertaining viable, sustainable farming practices. For the size we are organic would not allow us to be sustainable.

I'll be using Mississippi Chicken freezer dish next week. I have no choice but to rely on what everybody else says about it. This COVID mouth is not improving. Most things taste weird or not at all. Tonight I have Chicken Pot Pie going. I make delicious pot pie so I know it will be good, but to me the filling tastes like cardboard and the crust tastes weird. Ugh. Not sure what to do about putting more in the freezer. Help welcomed from anyone who has been through this.

When we had Covid and nothing tasted right, we ate simple foods…a lot of basic carbs. Not the healthiest but nothing else tasted right. I hope you get back to normal soon.

​@@acountrylife LOL While I was at my worst, the only thing I would/could eat was small rolls from Walmart. They call them Steak Rolls here. I had them in the freezer and would pull one out and eat it half frozen.Maybe I'll go back to that. The pot pie is gorgeous. When it has cooled all the way I'll vacuum.seal it in portions for another time. Settled on boiled potatoes and some of the gravy leftover from making the pie. I guess it is a carb craving virus. . Maybe someone will read these comments and remember the ideas if they get it. It is sure making the rounds again. Thanks for the reminder Jennifer.
