The best thing about her is her attitude, judgment, and work ethic. She is one of a very few women players who hasn't had a parent running the show. All by herself, she has hired each team member and, with their help, decided how to deal with her weaknesses, like her serve when that was an issue. She doesn't blame other people when things go wrong. Instead, she figures out what went wrong and works harder to fix it. And, maybe more than for any player, man or woman, she has fun off the court and is clearly loving every minute of being a world-class tennis player at the top of her game. She is really an inspiration for anyone who is trying to get better at anything while having a good time doing it.

You sort of touched on it, but 2024 US Open Sabalenka was far more well rounded a player than 2023 US Open Sabalenka. Volley, Drop shot, Smash (better than some men in terms of execution and outcome truth be told) and shot/target selections. TLDR 2024 US Open Sabalenka plays smarter now, bit still backed by the big weapons. The shot Sabalenka needs to improve is the slice/block forehand. That will improve her serve returns and get the point started.

Have you seen the video from the 2018 australian open when sabalenka was playing ash barty? She used many different styles of grunting from shot to shot. At times it mimicked Azarenka with the wooooh, other times the sharapova screech, or even the Aye Ahhh (I forget who used this one). When the 2 played again at the 2022 aussie open the crowd wouldn't leave her alone, and relentlessly mocked her for the grunting.

Kinda. Vekic leads their H2H 6-2 but 5 of those wins came before 2022 when Sabalenka was still honing her craft. Vekic beat Sabalenka this year in Dubai and she can actually match Sabalenka’s aggression, so yeah I totally agree.

Any chance we can talk about Thiago Seyboth Wild! I feel like he is up and comming, looks like federer when he plays besides the unforced errors. Effortless power, and floating around the court. He just beat D. Evans, beat JJ wolf, keeps up with the likes of Rublev, and just did well against medvedev but lost 7-5, 7-5.

If Sabalenka ever becomes number 1 then I won't be watching any more WTA tennis 🎾. I can't stand her grunting and shrieking, and I also don't want to watch a virtual man play (her style of play of trying to smash every ball for a winner is so boring).
@GoVeganOrDieАй бұрын
She already has been world no.1 - disagree with youe opinion she added elements to her game and plays with more variety than for example Iga.
A dumb comment. From 0 to 3 slams is progression. 2 slams in one season is progression. One 1000 tournament with 2 slams in the same season is progression. 16 WTA singles titles are progression. Sabalenka has been in the top 10 for over 4 years. If she isn't progressing, then the same must apply to Swiatek, as she is playing the same opponents. All her opponents are below her ranking, whereas Sabalenka has one player above her who is theoretically better. When she beat Swiatek in Cincinnati, that was progression.
@olita.aАй бұрын
@@camera2paintingIga is not "theoretically' better than Aryna, she just is and it's a pure fact. Iga has more titles, grand slams, weeks at being number 1, matches won this season etc. Sabalenka must work harder if she wants to achieve what Iga has already achieved.
