First of all, Iga was raised to be an athlete. Her father took part in the Olympics, instilling in her not only the love of sport, but also the entire athletic mindset - respect for the opponent, the ability to lose with dignity, the willingness to make sacrifices and train hard. Iga is also an extraordinary inteligent person and has the ease of learning new things. Paradoxically, now is the time when experienced tennis players learn tactics from Iga.

Lose with dignity? She had cold hand shakes after losing. Sore loser-quite opposite of Djokovic. Also, looks very rude in the court. Rarely smiles. Doesn’t appreciate opponents great shots. Argue unnecessarily with umpires on the points don’t go her way. Distracts opponents with the unnecessary ball tosses when behind and at the critical points. Try to play mind game.

Iga is one of the most likeable players I’ve ever seen. Her personality is so relatable, she doesn’t come off as some boss who’s running things but like an ordinary, sometimes awkward person who happens to work amazingly hard and be incredibly good at tennis. Her forehand, for a wta player i must say, is unorthodox. She has atp take back, with her racquet not passing her back. But she also doesn't whip it with a straighter arm, like atp players (or sakkari). This ensures she has her hip connected to her forehand shot.

If you're gonna claim she 'keeps losing to Rybakina', then at least get the whole match history straight. For one, it's only been 6 matches; 4-2 Rybakina. It's not like Williams/Henin or Federer/Djokovic. Also, one of 4 Rybkina won was when Swiatek had to retire from a match that was 2-2 in the 3rd set. That could've gone either way. We also don't know how many more times they may have played if Rybakina wasn't pulling out of tournaments w/ injuries and weird illnesses.

More points are lost than won in tennis, although she hits the ball hard also. Consistency is the key. She reminds me of Rafa, whose game I know she thinks very highly of. Good video mate. I do think that you should add more stats around her "not winning" on other surfaces. She is actually far more consistent and dominant on other surfaces than anyone in the last 20 years. The game is not just slams of which she has 5 now. She won ridiculous number of masters and had winning streaks the likes of Barty or Sabalenka could only dream of. She also does it at the time when the competition is so much stronger than say 5 or 10 years ago. Thank you for pointing this out.

She have bloopers with different situations, but rising complains that she raises the cup in strange/akward way after wining the final seems odd for me. she just won roland garros. she's been unstoppable and i hope it continues. it's true the matches sometimes get boring when she's up against weaker opponents, but i don't take that against her. it's not her fault she's too good for them, and i think that's what most of her critics should understand. and for those who does't like her personality, well that's a matter of preference. i think most of us introverts relate to her, and we love her off-court personality even more. i love her awkwardness and straightforwardness on occasions. but the thing that really drew me to her is her work ethic - the dedication, the focus and discipline, the metal toughness, intelligence (i'm not a very envious person, but i really envy that of her.haha). i think that's what really helped her separate herself from the rest of the competition. hard work really pays off. jazda Iga!

Iga Swiatek is Rafa's successor. Her baseline game is deadly, along with her mental toughness. Her comeback against Osaka at Roland Garros just a few days ago proved that. The way she can handle the pure power of Sabalenka is something very few can achieve. Her tenacity covering the baseline is Rafa-esqe. She literally never goes away and can find those margins to hit a shot down the line on the run. The best part? She is only 22. She has a lot more titles to win, and at her current pace, she might reach the 20+ Slam mark. Assuming she doesn't get injured of course.

@allainangcao28 8 сағат бұрын
@@CH-yp5byI agree their techniques are different, but playstyle wise, they are similar. Nadal never really got a hold of grass until he was in his mid-20s. At the pace she is on now, she will eventually be competitive on grass. Even Nadal, when he was young, faced a similar criticism. People thought he was only good on clay but could never beat the likes of Federer on grass. Once he started winning the likes of Wimbledon in 2008 and 2010 did people's opinions about Nadal being a clay merchant changed. Even then, grass is still Nadal's second worst surface with indoor hard court being his kryptonite.

Two of those four majors she didn't make the final in she was 21 or just a few weeks into turning 22. And she lost two of those matches vs. major champions. You can go through history and see the very greatest players have lost to players ranked lower than Noskova was. Nadal lost multiple times at Wimbledon to guys ranked 100+ or were just nobodies. He lost to much lesser players at the AO, too. Prime Serena lost a U.S. Open SF to a doubles player in her mid-30's. Sampras' losses at the F.O.

I really appreciated your video! It is honest and accurate, I think. Iga is an exceptional athlete and person. She has so many skills it almost feels unfair. I have played and watched tennis for many decades now and I haven’t seen a female player of this caliber. Watching old great stars seem like using slow motion. It is a rare diamond in my eyes and one can only imagine what a mega star she would be if she happened to be born in the US or UK.

Great video! I'd probably question her ability to read the game, it's not the best yet. Apart from that Iga might be having the best season to date, and she's only 23

The only thing I don't like about her game is the excessive ball tosses when serving. To the point of being annoying if you are returner or spectator.

@7:49 to @7:52 your point was a bit confusing since you didn't add combined at the end of the statement for a split second I thought the latter 3 you listed all had 4 grandslams each.

2:17 iga has a weak 2nd serve but high win % because she dominates most 50-50 rallies - she seizes the initiative very quickly from 50-50. Power players know to stop the point from getting anywhere near 50-50, and can sometimes neutralise her.

What you just described is exactly what makes her second serve so solid. She is able to protect it and get the most out of it like no other player.

She has a great kick on her second serve and rarely double faults
@dnisbet71
@dnisbet71 27 күн бұрын
@@emmanuelokosun7624 the serve itself isnt great, but it has improved. On clay, you often notice the huge kick, which compensates for lack of power. I confess i dont remember when i last saw her double fault, ever. I watch her whenever i have time, and she is always rewarding to fans because she gives her all, in a match and in training, mentally and physically. But the second serve is surely the most attackable thing in her game.
