Mrs. Iga Świątek talks here about the baggage of expectations that overwhelm her. In my opinion, Iga Świątek has long ago fulfilled all the "expectations" of Poles. If she stopped playing today, at the age of 23, she would still remain the best Polish tennis player in history. What I feel is not "expectation". It's just nice to see her in shape and look at her amazing tennis and mental skills :-) What Świątek does is a positive alternative to all media "patostreams", she is an inspiration, a role model, especially for young people. :-)

and even as an introvert that she admittedly is, she has improved in the way she addresses both crowds and the media. She sounds a lot more relaxed and confident these days, but still very respectful of the opponent and the media. I am in awe, to be honest. I hope she doesn't let all these expectations people put on her in Poland overburden her.

Yeah, 'for sure'. Her English is fine, but she seems nervous and uncomfortable a lot in interviews. But many times it's right after a match when you're trying to just decompress and come down from the mental focus you have to maintain like a machine as it's just you out there w/o teammates on the court to relieve pressure.

Those interviews on the court right aften the match are cringy for most players and if she "seems nervous and uncommfortable", it is because she is an introvert.

Being an introvert doesn't mean you don't like applause and the spotlight. Iga is quite an outspoken person. She speaks Polish quickly and fluently, and is witty and sarcastic. In English, during interviews, her thoughts are racing faster than her tongue can keep up, or she is tired. What can you say original for the hundredth time? You simply become Iga You Know Świątek, Aryna Atmosphere Sabalenka and Elena Tough Battle Rybakina.

Iga is such a breath of fresh air. What strikes me most about her is her normalcy in a decidely abnormal world of tennis that she inhabits.
