Been using one of these for a couple of months, primarily for any calls during my commute, have to say I agree with the review. I wanted something small and light, so I did not need a full laptop bag every day, can now manage with a small sling bag. Screen, keyboard, performance, build quality are all spot on so far. Works well on the airline type seats on the train, with fold down tables.

50 Hz is def NOT an European thing. It was the standard for analog signals, but ever since the digital era everything's is at least 60 fps. Nowadays the standards don't matter anyway with all the 75, 90, 120, 144 Hz screens.
@jan.tichavsky3 ай бұрын
50Hz is PAL/SECAM European thing and has been used all the time until now, digital TV still runs at 50Hz, DVDs are also PAL. Hell, the streetlight are 50Hz in Europe because the power grid always run at 50Hz. Sure today it doesn't matter anymore and you can tweak this laptop to run at 60Hz.

I really quite like the N100/N200 family. They come out about like a 6th gen i5, but with a bit better GPU. And at @5w. Really quite a nice uplift for what I will call 'netbook' kit.

I think they should have made the screen 3 by 2 because of the following 1 : More content would be visible on screen 2 : The taller screen would give the user more space to rest their palms on the laptop.

In your summary of how it could be improved, I would suggest if it were passively cooled. I dislike fans because vents are so easily blocked if using it in bed or on a lap. It also means the system is using the battery to produce heat. It's why I still love my M1 Macbook Air despite being a Windows user.

AYYY! My man got one! Nice! I've had this for like... 7 months? It's quite good except it does get super toasty; as you mentioned, the 28.8Wh battery is what you'd expect for the size, that also said... I think my model has started to have a battery swell... THAT said, I still like the device AND, you can actually connect those XR glasses to them (though you might need to boost the power output from the USB-C ports), also there's supposed to be a 60hz fix, though I've not delved into that.

First of all - a great review!!! I always wish there were more of these realistic reviews of good budget products, with the punchline: "it is inferior to some 3000 usd devices, but it is by far the best bang for your buck!" I love everything about your review, but please tell me (and I'm sorry if you already mentioned it) - the keyboard is backlit, but the light turns off just a few seconds after any key has been pressed... Can this be changed somehow? ...the timeout increased? because I own some laptops that have that key light on permanently, and i love it ! ...?

@@StingyGeek The point is that they're power efficient. I run two of them now - one in a Surface Laptop 7 and a new Surface Pro. No heat on your lap - whatsoever. @@1218omaroo Yep, would love to have the battery performance of mac silicon, but snapdragon doesn't come close. Given the current issues (early days product) I would only buy a low end cheap chip - I would use it for word processing on the go. It may be early adopter tax at the moment, and I'd be happy to look at them next upgrade. But at the moment I feel they are very overpriced. That said, I'm genuinely glad that you liked the product enough to defend it. The more options PC buyers have the better. For reference, just purchased thinkpad e16, which does what I need.
