Duuuude you guys need to address these issues way more. I think this generation needs this kind of guidance because everyone is scared from marriage (including myself lmao) when it's one of the simplest most beautiful things in life.

Conversations around gender are so toxic and one-sided. not this one though. You were able to present the perspective of both genders and that too in such a curteous and constructive way that it clears the air and shows the way forward.

I feel like there is so much interference of societal norms and families in a couple's marriage. I believe if we let the couple figure out these conversations regarding equality in the union, finances and everything. Humna is right when she said mostly men in our society don't know how to work as a spouse in a marriage after wedding.

Thankyou so much for bringing these points. Our society needs to understand that if a man wants to quit his job and spend time with his family dont blame him. It is his right. And yes equal partnership is very important in marriage life. Both husband and wife needs to support each other.

The way you're organizing podcasts and putting them up is too advanced for Pakistan, by that I mean this is too good and too perfect for the people who are used to tiktok culture and cringy memes, that's why your views are not reaching that much, all I want to say is keep going, you have always been ahead of time! and you deserve all the recognition in the World:)

Was talking to my fiance about this yesterday only and came across your podcast. Loved every bit of it. Helped me make him understand that it's okay for a man to take a break from what society thinks is solely his job - a woman surely can be the sole bread winner of the house if circumstances allow. There's nothing feminine about sitting back at home taking some time off and spending the time with your kids if that's what a guy wants. Marriage truly is a partnership! Amazing amazing insight.

I remember in our neighborhood there was a girl she wasn't wealthy from her father's background and her father was just a keeper of Church So when she got married she was totally dependent on her husband ... And when she went there her husband was also not enough wealthy to fulfill the needs of his family ... I remember that she used to ask for clothes from Other there old clothes and She wore them on big occasions ... And her father gave her the Dowery of atleast 4 5 lakhs at that time 10 to 12 years ago .... If he would've gave her the cash instead of the Dowery she wouldve had the money to buy herself new clothes not daily basis but on big occasions so Dowery is just a waste of expenses and has no use

I am glad that u people talked about and put forward such a balanced conversation that our society is totally trying to avoid. I like your approach of talking about the confusion and conflicts the common man is facing and not have a fight or heated argument about the extremists. More power to you and Humna.
@aamnahere6250
@aamnahere6250 3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate that you've brought this subject. It's extremely important to talk about it but I have a few things to say. Just my humble opinion. We live in a society where women even in middle class households are forced into marriages. They are told they must strut in front of larke ki maa and who'ever selects her is going to be her future. That is extremely toxic. Women are not decoration pieces. I know many educated middle aged women in my own family who casually say that independent women are besharam and behaya and criticize their peers who refuse to be the stereotypical saas. Unless we remodel our society into equality where both men and women are responsible for making this decision, we'll continue hearing about abuse and forced marriages. Women should be allowed to choose their partners without being told that they're 'besharam' or it's against our 'culture.' No it is not. This will only change when women are no longer seen as property of men who belong to fathers until they decide whom they want to transfer them to. Men cannot understand the pain that it causes to be seen as property. They think women are free here. We're educating our daughters so they're free right? Wrong. Women only become free when they are not forced into making the most important decisions of their lives. It should be ideal for a man and women to decide for themselves that they want to spend the rest of their lives together. Instead of mocking love marriages, we must encourage them. Women should not demand from men that they want a certain amount of money monthly. If they want that money, they can get a job. Men shouldn't forbid their wives from working if that's what they want for themselves. There are very few men in Pakistan who allow their wives to take leadership roles and stand by their side in support. Most just say "my wife is a proud housewife" when that is not even a taboo in this society. Housewives aren't being discriminated against. Working women are. They're referred to as sleazy and characterless. Men have to stop being part of friend groups that actively mock and shame women. We all think how can a single person stop workplace harassment? But we can. By refusing to befriend and thereby, encouraging such people. Similarly, stand up for your brothers who have been excessively burdened by their own parents and families to earn an exorbitant amount of money. That pressure is crushing and we need to be more empathetic. Let people choose their own partners and their own destinies. If in the 21st century we're still treating kids as our property and think that's our 'culture' then we must change that aspect of our toxic culture. Culture is made of people, it's an ever evolving phenomenon.

Idk if this topic is discussed in any podcast or not, but if not, so you guys must discuss the issue of CASTE. I belong to the middle class family where usually middle class parents don't want to let their children marry if they are doing PASAND KI SHADI and belongs to DIFFERENT CASTE. This discrimination should end now. PASAND KI SHADI and DIFFERENT CASTE doesn't let your IZZAT down. Everyone is same. Parents then don't give right to the GIRL CHILD especially. Parents should understand k wo olad par haq rakhte hain lekin milkiyat nahi hoti. Larki ko daba kr us shaks se bandh dya jata ha jske sath usne dreams dekhe nahi they kabhi, wo apna burhapa non-fav bande k sath guzar rahi. And IT'S KABIRA GUNAH of parents do this. Recently started following you and podcasts are great. Talk on this issue too

Muzamil and Humna the conversations you two have are so thoughtful and at the same time thought-provoking. I have listened to it twice and yes I would be looking forward to such more conversations from you two. We general awaam is so often times confused and get to listen too many horror stories that happen on the extreme side and quote them as examples before taking a step as a result we make mistakes living the intermediate life. We really need to listen to such general conversations to break the bubble of fantasy and idealistic lives. As you said during the podcast you wanted to take the conversation to the other side so please do an episode on that. I agree with you that men/boys these days want a partner who is equal to them, independent and can have conversations with but at the same time are confused as well. They know what they want but they give in to what their parents pick for them and as a result the marriages don't work out. Or they marry the one they chose but later it hits them marriage was not what they wanted. I would want you to have a discussion on how must men be educated as well before they tie the knot.

First off i'll start with how good u both portrayed both the concepts of the society, relationships and things around it plus how politely you guys are giving a great message through this perfect piece of podcast, The thought behind the particular steriotype, its consequences plus on the other hand what is the right thing to do and what mentality do the couples (either they are married or are going to be ) should have . i hope people are very much inspired from your thoughts and how you can push yourself to betterment in relationships and other aspects of the society , atleast i am :) .Plus I hope to remember the things you pointed out to build a healthy relationship in all the aspects when i am getting tied into this beautiful knot. This is for all of your podcasts regarding building a healthy relationship , mentality growth ones and others, i hope you both carry this podcasts and both of your channels always, i love to see you guys happy and prospering (mashallah). you both are doing a great work ,keep it up Love you both Muzammil Hasan and Hamna Raza.
