I found the reaction to the end bit confusing. Only becuase she complained that Re-Destro was taking time away from the show. He's part of the show, this is what the show is. This is no different than an Endeavour monologue, lol.

That's because literally all of Redestro's characterization was cut, meaning anime only watchers get none of his personality, backstory, or worldbuilding other than "just another guy". Same with most of Spinner's and Toga's arcs as well. It was all cut so that MVA can be shorten as much as possible so that the investors can spend as little time as possible on the Villains and go back to the students (the real money makers in the show). This is also why the training battles were dragged out so long while MVA was delayed, cut, and crammed in.

@@Deadweight45 I still get the gist of his deal by the end of the season as an anime only, and frankly villains are overrated. Narratively they're important, but I'd decidedly prefer spending too much time getting to know 1b over spending too much looking at stabby and stapleface.

I can respect these villains’ comradery. Like, they’ve got different goals but they’re allied under these specific circumstances. I can’t get behind their methods, but credit where it’s due, they’re better teammates than some heroes 😅

The thing about the animes handling of this arc is that this and the endeavor agency arc were both swapped, and because of it alot of stuff was cut from the anime, including the first two opening chapters which gave us more world building and a look at what all the characters were thinking at the time about their situation, I highly recommend reading the manga once you're done watching the anime, trist me the anime does don't do the arc justice

Did Alicia forget that Hawks, in the future from this arc, already told Endeavor that the Meta Liberation Army, which Re-Destro is the leader of, is hosting a force 100,000 strong and will attack in 4 months? And she already knows that the League are in on it. Which is a problem that this season has. We shouldn’t know that yet.

A lot of content was cut from this arc, unfortunately, but don't worry, this arc will conclude this season. However, next season, we go immediately to the next arc with no recap episode. So, before season 6, I highly recommend watching the movies. They are canon to the story and take place before season 6.

Few things 1. In the manga this arc happened right after Joint Training. Anime swapped this and the Endeavor arc around for no good reason 2. Anime removed a good chunk of material from this arc. Including Re-Destro's introduction, setting up his company and a bunch of his scenes making pretty bland characterisation wise in the anime. The LA capturing Giran. Introduction of the Creature Rejection Clan and the League killing them trying to get money and resources which lead to Nachia finding them. A lot of Spinner's scenes that developed his character. All his narrations being replaced by Izuku. Cause this season really needed 2 fillers and half an episode of flashbacks while cutting out chapters of manga content

And I would argue it fits BETTER for an animated medium. Keeping the original order would have had a massive slowdown after this arc, and not served the story well. The ONLY people I have seen complaining are Manga purists, and those who just follow everyone else.

@@WhatsIQ I don’t think it was fully virtue signaling. Yea the League killed them and felt they were distasteful, but they killed them for money mostly. It’s to show that the League’s goals aren’t against a specific group but all people, and they’re a different kind of villains and also I doubt Spinner was a big fan of anti mutant racists just being around.

I know people are pissed about the anime cutting stuff but tbh I think this arc and the show in general is still very entertaining and fun to watch despite that. Would it be even better if they didn’t cut stuff? Sure. Does that take awake from my enjoyment or understanding of what’s going on? Not at all. That’s just my personal take. I get other people care more about that kinda thing but I just wanna put it out there that I personally don’t think it’s a big deal and this arc can be enjoyed perfectly fine without the cut stuff.

The problem is it WILL take away from your understanding of specifically Spinner, a significant character who will only become more significant later. A lot of his characterization is cut which doesn’t bode well for what happens with his role in the Final War.

Ig for me personally it’s just not a big deal. Every single one of the villain characters got screwed over in the anime, character development upon character development: Literally Just MISSING They REMOVED it. The My Villain Academia Arc was utterly butchered in the anime, and considering so much of it is still hype as hell despite that, you can imagine how top tier it was in the manga.

So the moment all five fingers on one of Shigaraki's hands touch something, it is disintegrated... so why could he wear those gloves in the flashback? Wouldn't he need to wear gloves that go only over some, at most four, of the fingers, so they don't crumble away? Or is this some super-special material, that's not affected by his quirk? Or could it be that the five finger activation isn't a physical thing, but a subconscious trigger and he could one day learn to just activate his quirk even by just touching a single finger to something and keep it inactive, even whole holding something with all five? Do you think that if he loses one finger, he won't be able to activate his quirk with that hand anymore? Would it work if his first four fingers of one hand and the thumb of the other touch the same object?

In the manga was so awesome and it was so refreshing for me after the class A vs class B arc (I found that arc lame), but the anime butchered everything to make it fit in just 5 episodes. And obviously the switching arc stuff. It's been like 2 years but I still don't understand who was the responsable and why they think was a good idea.
