The reason the main characters of the students don’t place in either front line squads is while they are powerful, their powers are extremely hard for surrounding heroes to predict and adapt their movements to them. And all 3 are known for going overboard or putting too much on themselves. Iida and Uraraka also would be tough to not be in the way and difficult to predict and coordinate with. And that matters when the pros are just as professional as the villains they battle.

This is gonna be a major down/trigger warning, but The evil doctor Garaki unintentionally cause a major controversy as his original name was Dr Shiga Maruta. Maruta (meaning Log as in wooden log) was a top secret Russo-Sino war and japanese ww2 human experimentation project by Unit731 ( bio-chem warfare R&D detachment), with the Chinese, Korean, and Russian P.O.W.s of every age and type were used as test subjects for any experiment imaginable. They were referred to as Logs because the staff joked "how many logs fell," as the facility cover was a lumber mill, and "sacrificed" to the incinerator (like log to a furnace). The mangaka quick apologized and insisted that the character was never intended to be the purely coincidencal parallel reference he unintentionally became, the franchise was removed from Chinese platforms, and digital Shonen Jump releases changed his name to Garaki. Personally, I believe the mangaka and give him benefit of the doubt, but the Mad Scientist did premiere around the time that another uptick in Japanese creatives making some more overt reference to Japanese war crimes and government wrongdoings, alongside others being more open to talk about what happened once been hush-hush or out right denied in the past. As much as the creator is influenced by western comic heroes, i wouldn't be surprised if he later reveals that he wanted to draw attention to past evils and/or hoped it would get people talking for genuinely altruistic reasons.

I don't want to ruin the surprise for others who might not have seen it yet, especially cause idk exactly how far into the anime Alicia is on her Patreon and I'd hate to ruin it for her as well as the viewers. I love this season so much. Can't wait to see the reaction to an episode in the middle of this season. With that single episode, a character that I thought was just "pretty cool" immediately turned into the most interesting character in this show (in my opinion) and one of my all time favorite characters in anime in general. Like, easily makes it into my top 5 anime characters with that 1 episode. Such a good episode, such a good character, can't wait to see your reaction.

There's something I am wondering about Erasurehead's quirk... we know if he closes "his eyes" his quirk stops, but does that mean both eyes at the same time? What if he only closes one eye? If that kept his quirk going, couldn't he just close his eyes alternatingly, to keep the erasure up more or less indefinitely, as long as the target does not leave his line of sight?
