It's Weird THIS Wasn't Mentioned At Star Wars Celebration...

So I’ve just got back from an amazing time at Star Wars celebration. Me and a few of the boys from the VF team were fortunate enough to be some of the first people to see the Ahsoka trailer and learn new details about Acolyte, which I am now super hyped about. However, one big annoucnemt was conspiculously left out from the Star Wars celebration mainstage, at least on the Friday. Instead, this announcement was made behind closed doors. There was absolutely no mention of the three new films and most people there had no idea about the details that had just dropped.. In fact we only found out about the new Rey film from an IGN article posted a few hours before the end of the first day of celebration. Personally, I am keen to give Rey some redemption in a new film, but I can’t help wondering if this announcement was made behind close doors to the press to prevent any embarrassing live backlash. I am not really sure, I am just a little bamboozled that is all. Anyway, tell me what you think of the three new Star Wars films. Not gonna lie, I am super hyped. It's a shame that now that we are finally getting a movie about a New Jedi Order, it has to be about one directed by Rey. I still fondly remember the iconic "Young Jedi Knights" books, which tell the training and adventures of Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin (Han and Leia's three children) at Luke's Yavin Academy with their friends Lowbacca (Chewie's nephew), Tenel Ka (the Dathomir witch who would lose an arm to Jacen and in return he would give her a daughter), Zekk (the street boy who would hook up with Jaina) and Raynar Thul (the spoiled rich kid, descendant of a family related to the old Sith Empire of Vitiate, who would end up becoming the Ozymandias of Star Wars and one of the main saviors of the Galaxy against Abeloth). These books, despite being for children, dealt with deep thejes such as the harmful effects of absolute devotion to something that no longer exists, the acceptance of the loss of a limb, the search for our place in the universe, the need to sometimes having to sacrifice those we love to save the Universe, etc. These books could have been perfectly adapted as a cartoon shows, à la Teen Titans, but nope, because apparently there isn't source material according to Disney

Totally agreed would’ve loved to have seen the new Jedi order book series and young Jedi knights adapted on screen instead of one led by Rey nobody. It would’ve been a fitting continuation of the stories of the OT heroes and the rise of the next generation of Jedi lead by Anakin Jacen and Jaina solo, as well as Tenel Ka and Lowbacca

I would prefer to never see or hear a story about Rey again. I’ve legitimately tried to give her a shot after the sequels, but in everything she’s in, she’s the worst, most annoying character. She spends half the story delaying the plot with meaningless nonsense instead of working to overcome her issues, and then her problems solve themselves with no input on her part. She’s literally just along for the ride, there’s no danger in the story at all, and almost every line she says makes me physically cringe. Every single issue she encounters she beats with no difficulty or thought, just uses some “ancient” “lost” force power to fix every issue regardless of how little sense it makes. I mean she was an actual orphan growing up on a desert planet with no formal education or parental figures, but was capable of not only swimming but reading and writing IN MULTIPLE LANGUAGES. That says it all, but.. She was capable of math, knew of various planets around the galaxy and their stories despite supposedly spending most of her time alone with her droid scrapping wrecks. In spite of all that, She’s got no weaknesses of any sort and is capable of everything, and will do it easier and better than the best expert with no training. It’s just insulting to every story and character that came before her; she’s a sh*stain on the history of Star Wars.

My perfect saber would be a double bladed saber with a black aged and worn metal. With bone inlay and a fabric wrap for the hand akin to the boon kestis on your site. The crystal chambers exposed like starkillers and the emitter has the claws that starkillers dark side saber has. The blade would stutter and flash and be unstable like kylo rens and to go full legends the saber would be black like the black crystal in force unleashed. If not black then white

Hmm I’m surprised they didn’t mention this either I figured it was the big announcement at the celebration but I guess not. I suspect your theory about avoiding potential negative backlash maybe true. Of the three project I’m mainly only interested in dawn of the Jedi because I think Mangold is a good director who may make an interesting story, especially if it adapts the EU dawn of the Jedi comics. I have no interest in any further Rey stories

I guess the main reason they didn't say it on the internet yet was to see what people thought of the others first and then say "There are more Sequel movies coming out, and we understand it split the fanbase. We are taking steps to make sure it is revealed properly and with good intention." Is how I would do it with a franchise that has not only touched over 3 generations of fans but also split it even further.
