‘It seemed like a good idea at the time’ | Ampeg Micro VR | Istanbul Mehmet X Ray silence cymbals

Well it seemed like a good idea at the time. I had the camera set up to record some bass parts for a Line 6 Relay video, so I thought I’d put some drum parts down and film them too…..and I thought ‘if I position the camera right and don’t move it there could be two of me’ - like a band for somebody who has no friends’. Great idea.
Two of me is weird. Lol. But I do quite like the tune.
This has been sitting on my hard drive for almost exactly a year. I was going to put some guitar on it …but hey I’m unlikely to get around to that. Maybe one day. Probably should have tightened it up too.
So here it is.
Two bass parts and a drum part.
I do however think the Ampeg SVT Micro VR looks and sounds great and the Istanbul Mehmet X Ray silence cymbals look and sound great too!

It's remarkable just how little amplification you really need when your bandmate(s) know how to control their own volume within reason. Fabulous playing from both of you! Hey, do you find the fan noise of the Micro VR head to be a problem for at home playing?

Never caused me any problems. Lovely sounding amp. I had this one on loan for a short while. I really need to buy my own. Great size for my studio.

The Ampeg Micro VR and matching 2×10 cab. , can that be for gigging ? the added advantage of reduced weight and separate components makes it ideal if it can be used as a stage monitor, although not as stacked, due to needed tilt back of speaker cabinet.

Hey Mike. It's pretty loud. I guess it depends on the drummer as to how loud it needs to be. As a stage monitor I think it would be fine. I love the sound and look of it. They just released a white version of it that I'm really tempted by.
