Bored? Never! It’s so much easier to see and understand a quilting demonstration when it is in real time, not when it is sped up like most demonstrations. I really appreciate your videos!!

I do not like those high speed videos. They make me dizzy and they give the wrong impression about quilting. It is not fast! and that is the beauty of it. I am happy you like my work and content and I am happy to hear it is useful❤❤❤

Your machine quilting skills are THE BEST! Best of all, you don't chatter along the way. Thank you for the Intrroduction, and your courage and wisdom!

Thank you!!!!!!! This is one of the best comments ever! You made me laugh right now! I don't mind talking but I prefer to make videos that I would like to watch. That means real speed, some music (still learning that one) some machine background noise and some written comments. Sometimes I talk, but I am always nervous and English is not my narive language. I love quilting and it relaxes me. I know from many of my wonderful quilting friends that they relax too when watching!!!! Thank you again and have a wonderful day!❤❤❤

I could never be bored with your videos. This will definitely help me learn these shapes, repetition and practice will only help me improve. Another fantastic teaching video. Slow and repetitive is so awesome to watch. I was excited to see another video from you this morning. Thank you so very much for taking the time to teach us and share your expertise. You are so awesome. Thank you. I hope you have a beautiful day ❤🌻🌹🌞🤩😍

Thank you for your comment! Yes, this is a very technical video. If I would give a class it would look exactly this way - start with one shape, quilt, change one small thing quilt, compare repeat....It is a bit of Dyson principle applied to learning how to quilt :) Have a good day too😀❤❤❤❤❤

Beautiful quilting and the music is wonderful. I would like to find some relaxing music like the one you are playing. What do you suggest?

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback!. The music I am using is wonderful but it is not the one I am listening to when I am quilting. I listen to florian Christl, Florence and the machine, tons of classics, violin (pop edition), but also audiobooks. Chose one that helps you relax. I love the Marchent of Venice soundtrack ❤❤❤

Not boring, but very relaxing. Maybe if I play your video while I quilt, it will help my stitching. You make it look so easy!

I liked this series! It is really easy. All those super complex looking designs consist from simple shapes that are repeated over and over again. I love this kind of quilting. It is very relaxing and abstract enough that the perfection is not that important. ❤❤❤

How many years have you been FMQ-ing? And how long before you were skilled enough to do this? Also, did you have lessons or are you self taught? These are amazing! ❤

Thank you for all your comments! It was quite a journey. I was trying to quilt for some years but I did not have a good machine and my own space to do that. Once that happened, about 6 or seven years ago I got better. It took me one large quilt of fearless and horrible quilting to get the basics. After that it is a constant progress. You can see the difference between my first video and the last and I was quite good already there. It would be faster if someone would show me but I learned from books and videos. I hope to hear more from you!❤❤❤❤

@@quiltingnerd Thank you for sharing more about your beautiful quilting! I'm at the beginning of my journey, but I just retired so I'm pulling the rip cord, no more excuses, but following the simplicity in your examples ought to help get me going and if I can get the connection between my gas pedal and my fabric movements it should hopefully correct my needle breaking habit. It's all just the most wonderful journey to make, though. Thanks so much for all you do to help and of course, "treat" all of us. ❤️

If the needle continues to break maybe it is the machine problem. But do try to relax. Have fun and remember the KIS rule: Keep It simple. Complexity will come later ❤❤❤@@lorim2074

Thank you for the inspiration, what weight of thread do you use?
@quiltingnerd
@quiltingnerd 7 ай бұрын
You are very welcome!!! I am using mostly 50 wt cotton or polyester. I try to stay within the quilting threads kind. embroidery threads are also nice, but not all machines like then for quilting. it is all a bit of an experiment ❤❤❤

Forgive me if you have been asked these questions many times before.... do you have a thread you prefer to use? And do you have a specific type/size of needle? I have been experimenting with a Topstitching needle 90/14 and different threads.
@quiltingnerd
@quiltingnerd Жыл бұрын
I do not have such large selection of threads as other quilter in US. I mostly use Aurifil, then some superior threads. I buy cotton and polyester. Sometimes for color, sometimes for thickness. The needle size depends on the sandwich/thread system. I have Aurifil threads that breat with smaller needle but works perfect with 90 size. I tend to use the 50 or 40 weight thread. I hope that helps!
