My question is always: how do i go around a corner?
@quiltingnerd9 сағат бұрын
Hi, This is a good question but there is no short answer. There are designs for stripes. Can be sashing, or stripe units. Most of them will work in borders - and go around a corner. I can come up with four different strategies, but not all will work for each different design. Please be patient. I will finish this series first and then try to make another video on turning the corners with some of the designs. ❤❤❤

What do you mean by “no traveling” on the orange section.
@judypurcell95421 сағат бұрын
It means she didn't go back to the top using the spine to travel up and start the second side at the top. She went down the first side and then back up
@quiltingnerd9 сағат бұрын
@@judypurcell954 Thank you Judy!.
@quiltingnerd9 сағат бұрын
Judy already answered it. Traveling means using the previously quilted line to go back to a certain point. I like it, becasue the lines look thicker, but for some it can be difficult as one should have a very good movement control. ❤❤❤

our church has a quilt ministry and we make quilts for sick people and we put embroidery yarn in corners for people to pray over the quilt and person that it's given to. they tie knots inthe yarns and the quilt is presented to the person with all of our prayers tied into the four corners. they are like 52 by 65 inches .

I love the feather you did on the red strips. After I stitch-in-the-ditch all my seams, I do one of these feathers in a random pattern over the entire top. Once I get the spine down, it is stress free to fill in - I vary the size of the loops to fill in the curves. I love that there is no backtracking!
@quiltingnerd4 күн бұрын
This type of a feather is quite laid back. I needed some time to get it right, but quilting one whole quilt only with different feathers will do the trick. I like traveling in general, the thread build up can be a powerful design tool, but yes, sometimes you need something more neutral. ❤❤❤
