It Steals is One of the Scariest horror games every made. This is the strongest fear I've ever felt in any horror game. Usually you can remove yourself from a game pretty quickly but this game does literally everything perfect, the atmosphere, sounds and mystery, etc. If you want to be afraid you should play this game. The intro itself is so great already, but the fact that you always take scenes from the beginning of the video is just so relaxing - a teaser without being afraid to be spoiled. You get to see the good stuff - but the best will still be coming to you

You can click three of the stars to play the first three modes on new maps that make it even harder and cooler. I think the dev said hes working on the 4th and 5th extra levels, but the game has been out for quite a while so I doubt the game will get updated. Edit: After checking the steam page the game did receive an update recently so maybe the dev will return and finish it.

At least previously, Zeekerss has stated that he did not have fun ideas for challenge versions of the last two maps, so he has no intention of adding those. Honestly, thankful for that. Living Halls is insane enough as it is.

@@T002Tyrant12 Living halls is my personal favorite tbh and while it is what it is, coming up with ideas for those levels definitely isnt an impossible task. There will always be people that love this sort of challenge and + it doesnt even need to be challenging. If the other two extra levels just added some visual traps (kind of like the eyes in the first level) or any type of atmosferic effect that would make the levels more spooky would be good enough.

Honestly, "The Phantom" level might be my favorite and i think is the less scary out of them five, running around with the mechanic of "not seeing each other" but hearing each other makes that level so satisfying for some reason

I love games like this that revolve so much around the psychology of the player. The relation between the player and the game is soo well made. The players initial careless attitude is soon destroyed and leaves them with little trust for anything. Soon enough you double guess yourself everywhere you go and start looking around as that is what is revealed to them. The more terrified you get the less you pursue the objective of the game. The mysterious vibe that eminates throughout the experience adds well to the effect. Not and expert, just speculation.

The thing people fear most is the unknown, and uncertainty. Forcing the players to learn the rules, and punishing them swiftly and harshly for breaking them, pulls on those fears specifically.

I assume the beasts power comes from traveling through the wall designs because as fast as he runs away if he used that same speed you wouldn't even know death was coming which is a blessing because the only thing you can see is his eyes after he moves away even though his full body is in view

On the horror scale for Zeekerss game, from "feeling safe, feeling good" to "im pissing and pooing and screaming", It Steals is easily the scariest (just the thought of trying to play it give me chills lol) The Upturned is the least scary (more stressful than scary XD) and that is for sure intentional, wasn't meant to make you super scared. Lethal Company is a good middle depending on who you are playing it with. Dead Seater probably between LC and It Steals.
