Get with it. After 9/11 everyone BUT the Saudis were targets. Went after Iraq for no reason other than use the attack to exploit an irrelevant nation for its resources and to establish a permanent base in foreign territory. The Bush family flew Osama bin Laden's family to safety within the states for f***'s sake because they were cash cows for America. US hypocrisy in the face of capitalism is a tale as old as the nation itself.

This was exactly almost the same thing that happened years ago in football - with the money coming from the same source: OIL. Texas oil tycoons in the 1960's wanted to own football franchises but could not get a foot into the door of the NFL. So they started their own league and opened their wallets to pay top players more money than the NFL. Those early AFL franchises were losing a million dollars a year (big money then) but the owners did not care since it was the cache of owning a football franchise that they were after. Eventually the NFL had to settle and merge with the AFL to create modern league we now have. The same thing just happened in golf - with Saudi oil replacing Texas oil.

I love how Eisen and so many reporters are offended by the PGA being greedy. Eisen works at the NFL Network, THE most greedy sport around. This sport cares so much about player safety they added a 17th game to the schedule. They play Thursday Night games when the players only get 3 days to recover from their previous games. Now they are going to flex Thursday night games? I guess Eisen doesn’t have a problem with that? As for Saudi politics, I don’t hear Eisen and the sports media complain that China is a big stream of revenue for the NBA. You know that country of China being one of the world leaders in human rights abuses. Remember Tiannemen Square?
