WVI Nepal launched "It Takes Nepal to End Child Marriage" campaign on 10th August 2017 as part of its global campaign, "It Takes a World to End Violence Against Children,". It was contextualized in Nepal with a Nepali name नेपाली जुटौँ बालविवाह रोकौँ and the slogan ‘सानै छु, बढ्न देउ, बाल विवाह हैन पढ्न देउ’. The campaign contributed towards the vision of the Government of Nepal to eliminate child marriage by 2030 as outlined in the National Strategy on Ending Child Marriage 2016 and also with the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). It aimed to reduce child marriage among the most vulnerable population through improved community practices and government systems.
During the campaign's period, WVI Nepal collaborated with the Government at all levels, political leaders, diplomats, civil society representatives, children, academicians, and private/corporate sectors. WVI Nepal aimed to bring impact through the campaign with a specific focus on strengthening systems, changing behaviours of children, adolescents and their family and influencing effective implementation of policy. WVI Nepal collaborated with 30+ strategic partners and 40 partners NGOs in its’ working areas.
