Sometimes I feel like despite doing everything correct my signatures/books seem...loose? Like I feel like the signatures, when the book opens, should be tighter with no gaps. I'd love to see that aspect of your books better to get an idea of how off I might be.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a "Projects To Finish" bin... however, I've never held on to a project for longer than 2 years lol but I love your creativity!! I got into book binding and making my own scrapbooks because of you. 🥰
@znycelondon53134 жыл бұрын
First tutorial in my feed today. I think you have been in my craft studio.....😊😊😊you saw my bin of “ to be finished “ books and made this video!😅🤣😂 This was right on time......I reorganized my room and set the unfinished books out to be done. I’ve never tried a stitching for the spine and after watching you do it here.........yes.....I’m going to try it. I had just received some rolls of paper I ordered for book covers......cannot wait to see how they will look. I really appreciate you left the tear in the video......this helps when it happens to show not just to put that project to the side but to actually mend the repair and finish the book to the end. Your books looked really fun to make............ 🥰

I understand putting projects to the side, I've been knitting a scarf for my father for the past 5years. I'm planning on having it ready before Christmas (just as I planned last year).

Recently I had the same problem. Thread ripped paper, but I used glue for perfect binding and worked perfecly! Nothing is seen and glue keeps thread in place too.
@theeditor11493 жыл бұрын
When the thread ripped the paper I shouted noooooo at the same time as the sound effect 😂 but that'a a good fix, you can barely see it. I want try and do bookbinding but I'm so scared I'll get the measurements wrong - I can't seem to measure accurately to save my life! I'm still going to do it once I am able to get all the supplies. I've watched this channel for so long but felt intimidated to try bookbinding but this year I'm going to try all the things I didnt before. These books turned out so pretty, sometimes it's good to finish old projects!

Hi. Could you plz guide about how to add glitters in paint without flaking off while painting book edges...?
@SuperUsername1473 жыл бұрын
@SeaLemon I noticed that anytime there is a stitched binding, the binding ends up being the thickest part of the journal and the cover ends up sloped. Is this unavoidable with stitch binding or would I just have to use really thin thread to bind and reinforce it with glue?

@SeaLemonDIY4 жыл бұрын
Like a softbound book?
@helenkosmicki32834 жыл бұрын
@@SeaLemonDIY no, well it’s ( in the class you had to use a handmade paper so it would not have a grain and the case binding is like making a hardcover book but use double layer card stock instead of book board and you only attach it near the sine with a strip of glue and then fold over and glue the text block to the cover. Learned it at BYU. Recently made myself a watercolor one but used leather looking vinyl. Another cool thing was we left and overhang of the cover that bent in and made closures.
