Now that I know what I'm doing, I find min-maxing to be my favorite part of this game, and I skyrocketed to AR 50 so i could max everything and everyone i wanted to. I'm having so much more fun now that I know what I'm doing, and it's so satisfying to pull off a double swirl or a beidou parry.

I feel like the best way would be to let the person voluntarily approach learning about the game meta instead of forcing them to listen. No one person was guiding me, I was the only player in my friends group and I learned by lurking the subreddit, and that made for a good experience. But I guess it requires being both motivated and independent enough to actually seek the answer when you're stuck, instead of giving up.

I have no words to describe how happy these videos make me, the time and patience it takes to explain to someone the basic fundamentals of something and how they can learn so much more than just the surface of it. It's magical and exciting to me. Being that I have no friends or people to teach this kind of stuff to, seeing it from this perspective makes me want to be able to teach someone to play in the future so they can enjoy a good experience without being overwhelmed by so much content and technicality, and see even beyond the thick layer that the general public has implanted on this wonderful love letter to the art, it's just wholesome to see someone new get so excited about what they don't tell you about it. Yes I would like to see the video again unedited, and thank you for taking the time to help a friend who has put her vision into this product we call the 3d waifus collector. Sorry if I went on too long, but genuinely this kind of thing makes me happy! It inspires me to do the same and be rewarded with a smile on behalf of those in need.

I think for new/casual players, genshin mechanics can be well learned through baby steps. that's how I learned, at least. I had a lot of trouble actually utilizing reactions at the start, but when I started using Razor, I heard about how superconduct is good for him. that was my start in using reactions consistently, although still sparingly. Rosaria E, Razor E, left click until the debuff arrows are gone, repeat. after getting kazuha, it was easy for me to introduce swirl. having that super basic but consistent habit made it a lot easier to use OTHER elements and reactions to my advantage, and I can finally handle event-provided trial teams better (although I'm still more used to raw elemental damage hypercarry teams [*cough*xiao*cough] than reaction focused quickswaps lol)

this was a really pleasant video! ive been playing genshin since march 2022 and got 36 stars for the first time on the new 3.8 abyss, which was insanely gratifying and ive just been thinking about how much i really love this game, actually. ive been in a bit of a genshin slump for most of 2023 letting myself be bothered by things i could just ignore (most notably artifact minmaxxing but also i was very tired of eula being kept in jail (shes my favorite)) pondering whether i should just quit the game or push through and boy am i glad i pushed through. this video felt really good for many reasons, but most of all the deceptive simplicity of the basics + the nostalgia of going over them (again) and kellys very sincere sense of wonder at how well crafted this game is in so many ways are just so so nice, especially since ive been able to enjoy genshin a whole lot again lately. its nice to be reminded of how good this game can be. thank you for making this! your voice is nice, you explain things well & your patience feels natural. it was great to listen to you two! got yourself a sub, looking forward to more of your stuff o7

to simplify it, these are elemental reactions that are the most basics for building a team Cryo + Hydro = Freeze Hydro + Pyro = Vaporize Anemo + Pyro = Swirl Hydro + Electro = Electro Charged etc etc Basically think, "if I combine these two things this should give more damage" so for example, if an enemy gets wet, using cryo will freeze the water, while electro will electrify them. Basically apply real world thinking/logic to the game if an enemy is on fire, if you use anemo, it will cause the fire to spread, etc etc as for teams and types, use whatever you prefer for me I love freeze teams the most, so I use hydro + cryo characters the most with my second team mainly being a burn team with pyro + anemo characters I myself still do not understand Dendro soooo lmao

Shout out to that in particular!

Enemies can have their own resistance's, but almost always just in the superficial "this enemy takes less dmg from this element" I had to fix Kelly's misunderstanding that she HAD to use Water against the Fire flower. The nuances of specific enemies taking 10% less damage from an element were irrelevant to the goal of teaching her how reactions work.

To be completely fair to your friend's Pokemon logic, there IS often a difference in damage based on using certain elements to deal that damage (not talking about shields) Many elemental enemies have unevenly distributed elemental resistance values, usually being strongest against their own element's damage and weaker to the other elements. It isn't wholly Pokemon in that using opposing elements doesn't deal super damage, but it is sorta Pokemon in the sense that dealing damage of the same elemental type as the enemy usually results in a bigger nerf to that hit's final damage value That said, you're still right overall... because the way Genshin's combat works, reactions are king and it's far more important to simply deal more damage faster overall than to deal damage from the correct type of elemental damage source Elemental resistance values can matter, like when you're trying to wipe out a Jadeplume Terrorshroom on floor 12 of Abyss with a spread team... but they overall mean little compared to the immortal principles of: 1. Deal big number 2. Deal more number more faster 3. Deal number to more enemy same time

Yeah I don't remember if I cut it out of the video, but I did tell her that enemies can take more or less dmg to specific elements, but that it was always just enemy specific things, no universal "fire enemy takes more dmg from water"

@@Solunerra Word ^-^ This was a fun video to watch. It's always enjoyable to see players helping friends & others deepen their knowledge & joy for the game, and to see newer players be into some of the same things I find particularly cool about Genshin In this case, your friend's appreciation for the developer attention paid to all the little thematic details was heartening. If you're familiar and she's not, you should point her toward Genshin Slime Theory. It's another fun one and it's neat to see that it still seems to hold up so far. I personally can't wait to see if it will work for Focalors, too

@@ishleyro5457How slime theory works with Nahida. As for me, this theory does not make sense, and it makes even less sense after Nahida.

@@iosis9324 Similarly to how the large electro slimes come in a pair and thus potentially represent both Ei and Makoto's co-rulership of Inazuma, the large dendro slime is potentially representative of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's co-rulership of Sumeru alongside King Deshret and the Goddess of Flowers The large dendro slime has the following traits which can be taken as metaphors to the previous archon's rulership: - Slime, itself, representing Rukkhadevata - Large flower, representing Goddess of Flowers - Scarlet coloration of that flower, representing Deshret (the Scarlet King) - Ability to create smaller dendro slimes, representing the process by which Rukkhadevata created Nahida... a juvenile almost-copy of herself If anything, Slime Theory is stronger with the large dendro slime than it is with the other three slimes we currently have playable archons for
@iosis9324
@iosis9324 Жыл бұрын
@@ishleyro5457 two electro slimes are a positive and a negative electron. Why do you single out the dendro in order to show this theory more plausible, all the elements have a small and a large slime, what does it mean with anemo, electro and geo slime? It's too far-fetched, a flower can just mean a dendro element, it's like saying that "Thunder Manifestation" is an Oceanid because they are similar, only even stupider because it's literally just a flower. This is not even the same process by which Nahida was created, dendro slimes cause seeds from themselves that germinate into a small dendro slime, after the death of a large dendro slime, the little ones also die (this is just the most obvious attack you can come up with with a plant element enemy), Rukhadevata created Nahida not from herself, but from a branch of the tree from which she also appeared, and after her death Nahida did not die. And what about the other dendro slime attacks, this one doesn't just have this attack, dendro slime can also heal enemies. where Nahida has this ability or where in lore it was said about this ability in Rukhadevata? (locking up forbidden knowledge is not a heal) Dendro slime can set mines that put poison on the player, where Nahida has this ability or Rukha? And why, for this theory, they selectively take their skills from slimes for some archons, and for some lore, but even if we take the skills from anemo and geo slimes, then these are the abilities of not only archons, geo slime can create a shield as well as the element itself through reaction, but also Noelle can, it turns out she is an geo archon, anemo can fly and launch projectiles in the air and Wanderer is more suitable here, because Venti cannot shoot in the air, it turns out Wanderer is a real archon who won the war of the archons. This theory is too unreliable and it can be applied even to geo Samachurl and other enemies.

What happened is that Dendro comps made team options way more diverse lol. When there are so many more build options for characters to be used in different ways, it is much harder to say anything is "the best"

13:40 GI did not break any rules about elements and it even follows the rules logically :v That monster itself does not have elemental body, but their attack is elemental. Just like characters’ body is neutral but he can use hydro. Some elemental monster like slimes are created by element so it received more damage by elemental reaction.
